Luxury hotel finishes No. 1 in Cambodia in prestigious Readers’ Choice Awards 2026
PHNOM PENH : Raffles Hotel Le Royal has been voted the No. 7 hotel in Southeast Asia—and the very best in Cambodia—in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2026.
The 29th edition of the UK publication’s annual awards, published on Oct. 6, celebrates “all the different elements that come together to make our travels so memorable,” the editors write.
Raffles Hotel Le Royal ranked No. 1 in Cambodia, placing ahead of two other properties in the country’s top 15.
“We are truly honoured that the discerning readers of Condé Nast Traveller have recognised Raffles Hotel Le Royal as the finest hotel in Cambodia and among the very best in Southeast Asia,” said Dagmar Lyons, General Manager of Raffles Hotel Le Royal. “This accolade is a testament to the passion and dedication of our entire team, and we are deeply grateful to our guests whose continued loyalty and appreciation make our historic home in Phnom Penh so special.”
This latest accolade is another feather in the cap for the landmark luxury hotel in Cambodia’s capital. The property, together with its sister hotel Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap, was previously recognised with prestigious MICHELIN Keys, placing both among just 12 hotels in Cambodia to receive the honour in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide.
Originally opened in 1929, Raffles Hotel Le Royal today features 175 rooms and suites that underwent a full refurbishment as part of a meticulous one-year restoration project completed in 2019. The hotel’s elegant past has been reinterpreted in a bold, contemporary style inspired by French colonial, Khmer and Art Deco influences.
In June, Raffles Hotel Le Royal was also named Cambodia’s top city hotel, while Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor secured the No. 2 position in the prestigious Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia-Pacific 2026.
