New analysis reveals how investors, entrepreneurs and business leaders are adapting the way they travel as opportunities accelerate across the Kingdom and wider GCC
Riyadh : As Saudi Arabia’s innovation economy continues to evolve, with artificial intelligence accelerating transformation across sectors, new insights from Vista—the world’s leading private aviation group—reveal how changing business behavior is reshaping executive mobility in the Kingdom.
While much of the focus is on the digital infrastructure powering Saudi Arabia’s transformation, Vista is seeing the shift reflected in how customers plan and execute their travel. As technology enables faster analysis and decision-making, executives are increasingly booking travel closer to departure, while demand is also shifting towards aircraft capable of connecting Saudi Arabia with a wider range of global markets.
Mazen Obaid, President – Middle East at Vista, said: “AI is changing how quickly customers can assess an opportunity and make a decision, and we are seeing that reflected in their travel behavior. The time between deciding to travel and actually travelling is becoming shorter.
“But while technology can accelerate analysis and decision-making, the most important business decisions still depend on people coming together. As leadership teams have more markets to cover and less time to plan, the ability to move quickly and efficiently between opportunities is becoming increasingly important.”
The mobility demands of a faster-moving economy:
- Booking windows are getting shorter as business decisions accelerate. Vista data shows that the median lead time for bookings in the first half of 2026 fell to 7.1 days from 9.6 days year-on-year, while bookings made less than seven days before departure increased from 37.6% to 45.9% of legs. The shift points to a growing expectation for business aviation to provide flexibility as opportunities and decisions emerge.
- Saudi Arabia’s international business activity is increasingly global in reach. Europe accounted for 62.2% of long-haul travel in the first half of 2026, followed by Africa at 13.3%, South Asia and North America at 11.1% each. While Europe remains the leading destination, the data shows a broadening geographic spread as Saudi investors, entrepreneurs and business leaders increasingly operate across international markets.
- Aircraft demand is also evolving as customers look to connect further afield. On regional sectors of less than three hours, the share of super-midsize aircraft has decreased, while larger Heavy and Ultra Long Range (ULR) aircraft are accounting for a greater share of demand. The shift towards ULR aircraft reflects the increasingly global nature of business activity and the value customers place on reaching distant markets efficiently and without unnecessary stops.
Vista is also progressing the transformation of its global fleet, with 50% of its planned fleet upgrade from the Global 7500 to the Global 8000 now complete. With its combination of exceptional range, speed and cabin capabilities, the aircraft further strengthens Vista’s ability to connect customers across the world’s key business and investment centers.
Supporting Saudi Arabia’s connected economy
As Saudi Arabia’s business landscape expands, investors, entrepreneurs and executives increasingly need the ability to move efficiently across the Kingdom, the wider GCC and global markets. Having supported customers across the Middle East for more than 15 years, Vista combines regional experience with a global aviation network designed around flexibility and connectivity.
VistaJet’s domestic operating capability enables Members to travel between Saudi Arabia’s key commercial centers, emerging destinations and giga-projects while remaining connected to Vista’s global network. Supported by Vista’s floating fleet model, aircraft can be positioned dynamically to meet customer requirements as business activity evolves.
The changing booking behavior seen in Saudi Arabia is also part of a broader shift towards more seamless digital access to private aviation. Through XO, the world’s largest private aviation digital marketplace, customers can access VistaJet’s global fleet alongside more than 2,000 aircraft from a trusted network of operators and private owners. Recent milestones include the integration of Apple Pay and more than one million app downloads globally, reflecting growing demand for faster, more seamless access to private aviation among a new generation of business leaders.
Obaid concluded: “Every innovation economy depends not only on digital connectivity, but on the ability for people, ideas and investment to move efficiently between opportunities. Saudi Arabia is increasingly connected to the world, and our customers are reflecting that in how and where they travel.
“From shorter booking windows to greater demand for Ultra Long-Range aircraft, we are seeing customers use private aviation to connect with opportunities across an increasingly global business landscape. By combining VistaJet’s global network with XO’s digital marketplace, we’re helping customers move seamlessly across Saudi Arabia and beyond—at the speed modern business demands.”
