Riyadh : This winter, the Red Sea coast transforms into a serene haven for relaxation and psychological well-being. With its mild climate, turquoise waters, and unspoiled natural beauty, it stands out as one of the world’s most distinctive coastlines, where crystal-clear waters meet undisturbed islands and vibrant coral reefs, showcasing a unique harmony between nature and humanity.

Stretching along the western edge of the Kingdom, the Red Sea coast is renowned for its pristine beaches and rich marine diversity, offering visitors a unique coastal experience. Central to this destination is Shura Island, home to world-class resorts, marinas, and integrated beach experiences, serving as an ideal starting point for exploring nearby islands and engaging in marine adventures.

The Red Sea also features numerous natural attractions, including over 90 islands that maintain their natural character and are open for exploration, complemented by premier diving sites and extensive coral reefs. This region is a key pillar of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 for sustainable tourism, benefitting from year-round sunshine and inviting waters.

For thrill-seekers, eFoil surfing has emerged as a standout winter activity. This water sport allows participants to glide above the turquoise waters using an electric surfboard equipped with a smart motor, providing an exhilarating sense of freedom and speed, suitable for both beginners and seasoned surfers.

The eFoil experience features a smart control unit, enabling users to easily manage their speed while enjoying breathtaking views of marine life below. Additionally, this activity is considered sustainable, as it operates without fuel, contributing to the preservation of the delicate marine ecosystem. The Red Sea offers a variety of water sports, including diving, windsurfing, and other activities that emphasize enjoyment while promoting environmental awareness.

Winter, from October to April, is regarded as one of the best times to visit the Red Sea, with warm, mild weather, crystal-clear waters, and stunning sunsets enhancing the experience. The Red Sea continues to establish itself as a complete winter destination, merging unspoiled nature with diverse water activities and a tranquil ambiance, offering a perfect escape from the fast-paced daily routine.

The Saudi Tourism Authority has launched the “Winter Live” program at various key destinations, including Riyadh, Diriyah, Jeddah, Al-Ula, the Red Sea, the Eastern Province, and other unique locations such as Qassim, Hail, and Madinah. The program features an “exceptional events schedule” highlighting major tourist seasons and activities, with details available through the “Spirit of Saudi Arabia” platform.
