Riyadh, Saudi Arabia -: Supermodel and entrepreneur Elle Macpherson has said that “travelling with purpose” is key to unlocking new experiences while speaking during the opening day of the 22nd edition of WTTC’s Global Summit in Riyadh.
The founder of WelleCo – the original pioneer of nutritional greens and plant-based elixirs created from sustainably sourced ingredients – had spent four days in the Saudi Arabian capital before attending the event.
Macpherson told Summit delegates she had experienced “unbelievably generous” hospitality in the Kingdom and enjoyed “incredible” food at restaurants across Riyadh while aiming to “really get a feeling of what it is to be here”.
She added: “We travel so much for business but travelling with purpose – where you can go to a destination and really be imbued by the culture, get to know the people, break bread with the people – is extremely important.
“I see travel as a vehicle for spiritual and personal growth. We have to adapt and be flexible when we’re on the road and that’s actually a fantastic skill we need as an entrepreneur.”
WTTC’s highly anticipated Global Summit is the most influential Travel & Tourism event in the calendar and has attracted nearly 3000 delegates from over 140 countries including Heads of State, Ministers and CEOs from across the sector.
