From exclusively using San Marzano tomatoes to importing artisanal Italian cheeses, Monno’s pizzas are made using only fresh and natural ingredients imported from Italy each week.

For Dubai diners who like their pizza prepared in true Neapolitan style, look no further than artisanal Italian eatery Monno Ristorante in Jumeirah this World Pizza Day on February 9, where handmade pizzas are prepared using fresh Italian ingredients, recipes passed down through generations, and age-old Italian cooking techniques to ensure authentic taste and texture in every slice.

From exclusively using San Marzano tomatoes to importing artisanal Italian cheeses, Monno’s pizzas are made using only fresh and natural ingredients imported from Italy each week that are carefully calibrated and prepared, to deliver a nostalgic journey of the country’s most cherished culinary traditions. From the pizza dough to the tomato sauce, everything is made in-house at Monno using the all-Italian ingredients, with different pizza options available throughout the year in accordance with the seasonality of produce.

Shaped by hand, Monno’s must-try pizzas include the ‘Salamino di Wagyu’ with spicy wagyu beef salami and smoked mozzarella, as well as the ‘Burrata’ pizza with double tomato sauce, fresh basil, creamy burrata and extra virgin olive oil – both of which are best-sellers at the restaurant.

Not forgetting the indulgent ‘Tartufo Fresco’ with fior di latte mozzarella from Napoli, stracciatella cheese and fresh seasonal truffle shaven on top, as well as the ‘Prosciutto Cotto e Porcini’ with San Marzano DOP tomato sauce, mozzarella fior di latte from Napoli, veal ham, porcini mushrooms and oregano. Monno’s ‘Fruti di Mare’ pizza, topped with San Marzano DOP tomato sauce, garlic, calamari, shrimps, tomato confit, olives extra virgin olive oil and oregano, is equally delicious.

Served fresh from Monno’s custom-built, classic pizza oven, diners can expect the warming and comforting smell of freshly baked pizza to hit their nose as soon as they enter the restaurant. Once presented to diners, pizzas are hand-cut with scissors – as done in Naples – to ensure precision and that all ingredients remain in place on the thin base and the pillowy crust continues to stand fluffily and crispy.

“As we see in a city abundant with pizza restaurants, there are many ways to prepare pizza. Being Italian myself and working in a restaurant that prides itself on staying true to Italian culinary traditions, we ensure guests at Monno will find traditional Neapolitan pizza here – the kind you’d expect to find on the streets of Italy. We import everything from Italy to ensure the taste, texture and presentation is as it would be in Italy,” said Head Chef Federico Bartoli.

Monno presents a wholesome and authentic Italian experience in a charming, casual and rustic space that welcomes all ages. Soothing music greets upon arrival, while a chilled-out neighbourhood vibe ensures a relaxing visit – whether it be for a leisurely lunch with family, or a romantic dinner date with a loved one, Monno is abundant with laidback idyllic moments for everyone this World Pizza Day.
