DUBAI : Sav, the region’s rapidly growing consumer fintech platform, and Visa, a world leader in digital payments, have signed an exclusive five-year, multimillion-dollar strategic partnership that will see Visa become Sav’s exclusive card network across Saudi Arabia. The collaboration will accelerate product innovation, customer acquisition, and the expansion of Sav’s card ecosystem across both markets.

What the Sav and Visa deal means for users

As part of the agreement, Sav’s portfolio of cards will now be fully Visa-powered, ensuring seamless global acceptance and access for Sav users including access to Visa’s prestigious global events, partner networks, and innovation resources.

Purvi Munot, Cofounder and CEO of Sav, commented, “Through our partnership with Visa, we’re combining global acceptance with meaningful everyday rewards, while continuing to build an intelligent financial platform that helps users spend, save and grow their wealth more effectively. Consumers increasingly expect more value from the financial products they use every day, and we aim to for this partnership to extend the reach of our trusted, autonomous wealth management platform including our upcoming credit card offering, subject to regulatory approvals, in the future.”

Through this strategic collaboration, Sav users enjoy seamless, secure payments across Visa’s unmatched worldwide merchant network and will benefit from high-value rewards and cashback on both domestic and international spending with exclusive privileges from the global Visa Benefits Program. Consistent with Sav’s differentiated approach to consumer financial products, which prioritises helping users understand their finances, build savings and accumulate assets before introducing borrowing solutions, the partnership lays the foundation for the platform’s continued expansion across savings, cards, investments and physical gold.

“We are pleased to partner with Sav as they continue to expand their innovative financial platform across Saudi Arabia. Consumers across the region are increasingly seeking secure, seamless and digitally enabled payment experiences. By combining Visa’s global network, innovation capabilities and trusted security with Sav’s customer-centric approach, we look forward to supporting the next phase of growth and delivering greater choice and convenience to consumers, ” said Salima Gutieva, Vice President and Country Manager for Visa in the UAE.

Sav users can top up their Sav card instantly from any of their existing bank accounts, and can freeze and unfreeze cards in real time, set spending controls, and monitor every transaction the moment it happens, with bank-grade security built in.

The partnership will also accelerate Sav’s product roadmap, with the planned launch of credit cards, subject to regulatory approvals, alongside multi-currency cards, extending the platform from everyday spending into borrowing and borderless money for the region’s globally mobile consumers. Together, these capabilities strengthen Sav’s AI-powered financial ecosystem, bringing spending, saving, investing and physical gold ownership into a single intelligent platform that helps users build long-term wealth.

Digital Payments and Fintech Innovation in Saudi Arabia

The partnership between Sav and Visa highlights the growing role of digital financial services in transforming how consumers manage their everyday spending. As mobile-first banking and payment solutions gain traction across the region, consumers increasingly expect financial platforms to offer convenience, transparency and greater control over their money.

By integrating Visa’s global payment network into its card portfolio, Sav aims to combine everyday payment functionality with tools that support broader financial management. Features such as instant card top-ups, real-time spending controls and transaction monitoring can help users manage expenses more efficiently while maintaining visibility over their financial activity.

Expanding Financial Services for Modern Consumers

The planned introduction of multi-currency cards and credit card products could further expand Sav’s offering, subject to applicable regulatory approvals. Multi-currency capabilities may be particularly relevant for consumers who travel internationally, shop across borders or regularly make payments in different currencies.

The collaboration also reflects the wider development of Saudi Arabia’s digital economy, where financial technology companies are introducing new approaches to payments, savings and investment management. By bringing these services together within one platform, Sav aims to simplify the user experience and encourage more informed financial decisions.

As the partnership progresses over its five-year term, product development, customer adoption and the delivery of meaningful rewards will be important factors in determining its impact. For Sav, working with an established global payments provider offers an opportunity to expand its reach while strengthening its card ecosystem. For consumers, the collaboration promises additional payment options and a more integrated approach to managing everyday finances.
