Venice, Italy – : The Red Sea Film Foundation hosted a special luncheon on the sidelines of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, celebrating filmmakers supported through its various programs, alongside prominent film industry figures, Foundation leadership, and international partners.
The luncheon was attended by a distinguished group of filmmakers, including director Shahad Ameen (Hijra), producer Mohamed Al-Daradji, and Saudi actor Nawaf Al-Dhafairi director Cyril Aris, actress Mounia Akl (A Sad and Beautiful World), producer Georges Schoucair, director Yanis Koussim (Roqia), producer Fares Ladjimi, director and producer Damien Hauser (Memory of Princess Mumbi), producer Adesola Ajilogba, director Sofia Alaoui (Tarfaya), and producer Chris Barral, in addition to Faisal Baltyuor, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, and Shivani Pandya Malhotra, Managing Director of the Red Sea International Film Festival.
The gathering comes as a continuation of the Foundation’s strong presence at the festival, where five Red Sea–supported films are featured across its official programs, alongside projects in leading industry sections. This presence reaffirms the Foundation’s commitment to championing emerging cinematic voices from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Africa, and Asia.
