Visit Qatar returns for its second edition as the presenting partner of the Qatar Goodwood Festival presented by Visit Qatar 2026, taking place from 28 July to 1 August in West Sussex, United Kingdom.

Visit Qatar’s partnership with one of the most prestigious fixtures in the British flat racing calendar continues to build on the strong foundations laid in 2025, reflecting Qatar’s sustained commitment to international sport and its long-standing relationship with Goodwood Racecourse.

Visit Qatar at the Qatar Goodwood Festival

In a landmark announcement for 2026, Visit Qatar has confirmed a significant increase to the prize money of the Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes, making it the most valuable one-mile flat race in Europe, a moment set to bring a new level of prestige to the festival and further solidify Visit Qatar’s premium positioning in international horse racing.

The festival remains renowned for attracting world-class horses and jockeys, alongside equestrian and fashion enthusiasts from around the world, drawing racegoers and passionate racing fans seeking a premium viewing experience.

Visit Qatar holds exclusive naming and ownership rights to six races across the week, including the Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup (Tuesday 28 July), the Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes and the Qatar International Stakes (Wednesday 29 July), the Qatar Nassau Stakes (Thursday 30 July), the King George Qatar Stakes (Friday 31 July), and the Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes on the closing day (Saturday 1st August).

Visit Qatar branding will be displayed across key areas of the festival, including the Richmond Enclosure, reinforcing the brand’s presence throughout the event. A Visit Qatar Pavilion will once again feature in the Richmond Enclosure, showcasing authentic Qatari culture through immersive experiences. Guests will also have the opportunity to taste Qatari cuisine at a culinary pop-up by Qatari chef Salman Al Jaidah. And dedicated Visit Qatar Lounge will provide a platform for engagement with international partners and tourism industry stakeholders.

The sponsorship aligns with Visit Qatar’s broader strategy to raise brand visibility in key international markets, strengthen ties with global tourism and sports stakeholders, and position Qatar as a premium destination offering something for every traveller.

Qatar’s Growing Presence in International Sporting Events

Visit Qatar’s continued involvement in the Qatar Goodwood Festival highlights the country’s commitment to using international sporting partnerships to strengthen its global tourism profile. By associating its brand with a renowned British racing event, Qatar can connect with audiences who value sporting excellence, premium hospitality, fashion and distinctive cultural experiences.

Horse racing has a long-standing tradition in the United Kingdom, attracting visitors from different countries and backgrounds. The Qatar Goodwood Festival brings together competitive racing, elegant fashion and social experiences, creating an opportunity for Visit Qatar to introduce international guests to the country’s own cultural attractions and hospitality offerings.

Through its sponsorship, Visit Qatar can engage with racegoers, industry representatives and tourism partners in a setting that encourages meaningful connections. The festival also provides a platform to communicate Qatar’s appeal beyond major sporting occasions, highlighting its museums, waterfront attractions, desert experiences, luxury hotels and diverse dining scene.

Showcasing Qatari Culture Through Hospitality

The Visit Qatar Pavilion is an important element of the festival’s visitor experience, offering guests an introduction to Qatari traditions and contemporary culture. Food, in particular, can provide an accessible way for international visitors to discover a destination’s identity. The planned culinary pop-up by Qatari chef Salman Al Jaidah adds a gastronomic dimension to the programme, bringing regional flavours to an international audience.

Such experiences can help create a more memorable connection between a sporting event and its presenting partner. Rather than relying solely on brand visibility, cultural showcases allow visitors to engage directly with aspects of the destination’s heritage and hospitality.

The Visit Qatar Lounge also supports networking with international partners and tourism industry stakeholders, creating opportunities to develop relationships that may extend beyond the festival itself.

Building Long-Term Tourism Connections

The festival’s international reach offers Qatar a valuable platform for strengthening awareness in the United Kingdom and other overseas markets. Sports sponsorship can complement destination marketing by reaching audiences through live events, hospitality experiences and media coverage.

As global destinations compete for international visitors, partnerships that combine sporting prestige with cultural engagement can help create a distinctive brand identity. Visit Qatar’s continued presence at Goodwood demonstrates how tourism promotion can extend into established international events while introducing audiences to new travel possibilities.

With the 2026 festival scheduled from 28 July to 1 August, the partnership brings together horse racing, premium hospitality and destination promotion in a setting recognised for its sporting heritage. The collaboration reinforces Qatar’s ambition to strengthen its international profile and encourage more travellers to discover the country beyond the racetrack.
