Jeddah : Consulate General of India ,Jeddah @CGIJeddah , on October 24, 2025, launched the Global Passport Seva Programme 2.0 (GPSP V2.0) replacing GPSP V1.0.

Marking this occasion, Consul General, Shri Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, handed over the first set of e-Passports.

Members of Indian Community were also briefed about the important features of e- Passport.

Under GPSP V2.0, applicants will now receive e-Passports having an embedded microchip storing biometric data, ensuring stronger identity verification, better security, and enabling faster immigration processing at global checkpoints.

Existing passports will remain valid until their expiry dates, and applicants who submitted their applications before October 24, 2025, under GPSP V1.0, will continue to receive the earlier version of passports.
