The brand’s first-ever outpost in the capital is now open, bringing Ibn AlBahr’s signature seafood experience and Levantine hospitality to Makers District on Al Reem Island
Abu Dhabi : Ibn AlBahr, the homegrown Michelin Bib Gourmand seafood destination, has opened its doors in Abu Dhabi for the very first time. The new outpost brings a fresh yet familiar energy to the capital; a place where seafood meets soul, and coastal dining becomes a shared ritual rooted in warmth, authenticity, and Levantine hospitality.
Overlooking the Arabian Gulf, the new 2,000 sqm space embraces the essence of seaside dining with a generous layout that seats 270 guests across indoor and outdoor settings, including a serene dining deck with direct access to the water. It’s a continuation of the Ibn AlBahr experience that many have come to know and love, inviting guests to settle in, slow down, and savor the moment. It’s everything diners love about the Dubai locations, now set within one of the capital’s most walkable creative districts.
Ibn AlBahr’s Abu Dhabi expansion comes as a natural next step. The Dubai locations have consistently welcomed guests from the capital – many of whom have become familiar faces over the years. With strong cross-Emirate demand and Abu Dhabi’s growing investment in hospitality and lifestyle, the new outpost enters with purpose: to raise the bar for soulful seafood dining in Abu Dhabi with heritage, heart, and a distinct coastal rhythm.
The menu brings together the restaurant’s signatures and new additions, including a Raw Bar with Carpaccio, and Oysters; generous sharing trays like the Crab Tray Provencal and Shellfish Tray; the beloved daily Paella; and a fresh selection of lobster, jumbo prawns, mussels, calamari, and clams. Comforting highlights like Lobster Bisque and seasonal mezze round out the experience, staying true to the brand’s spirit of generosity.
Charbel Mhanna, CEO of Black Spoon Group, expressed his excitement about the new opening: “We are proud to introduce Ibn AlBahr to the capital, a city that continues to shape the region’s culinary landscape. This new opening marks a meaningful step in our journey – bringing our signature coastal experience, rooted in honest seafood and Levantine hospitality, to Abu Dhabi’s vibrant community. We look forward to becoming part of the city’s growing culinary scene and sharing the spirit of Ibn AlBahr with a new audience.”
Whether it’s a first-time visit or a familiar return from the Dubai branch, every detail at Ibn AlBahr Abu Dhabi is thoughtfully designed with the guest in mind. Set along the shores of Al Reem Island’s Makers District, the new location will sit alongside soon-to-open sister concepts Tripico and BōBo Beach, both part of the Black Spoon Group. Operating daily from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM, the venue will soon extend its hours and introduce a breakfast service from 8:30 AM. For those who prefer dining in the comfort of their own home, Ibn AlBahr will also be available for delivery exclusively through Deliveroo.
