Renowned for unforgettable celebrations, Chinese New Year holds a special place in the Michelin-starred restaurant’s culinary calendar, with this year’s festivities set to be the biggest yet. Available from 28th January to 12th February, this year’s celebrations promise to elevate the occasion with a limited-edition menu and cocktail offering. Guests can also enjoy the vibrant atmosphere enhanced by traditional lion dances that signify the bringing of luck and prosperity.
Abu Dhabi, UAE– Celebrate the auspicious arrival of the Year of the Snake at Hakkasan Abu Dhabi, where fine Cantonese dining meets rich traditions.
The Year of the Snake is associated with wisdom, charm, and elegance, which has been used as inspiration for the ingredients and design of the dishes to create a unique and standout menu. The limited-edition menu is available for parties of two or more at AED 598 per person (including a welcome cocktail) and will run alongside the à la carte and signature menus at Hakkasan Abu Dhabi.
Highlights of the menu include Golden “Yuan Bao,” delicious baked dim sum with king crab, caviar, and rice berry, shaped like traditional Chinese ingots, symbolising wealth and prosperity; a vibrant Snake Fruit, Persimmon, and Avocado Salad, representing harmony and renewal; Plum Braised Beef Short Ribs with a pineapple plum glaze that symbolises harmony and fortune in the year ahead; and Lucky Red Envelope, a striking dessert featuring mango curry mousse, cashew peanut praline, and mango passionfruit sorbet that offers a playful nod to the cherished tradition of gifting red envelopes.
Additional standout cocktails have been curated to celebrate the Year of the Snake, which includes Xiǎo Lóng, The Snake featuring Hennessy VSOP, Campari, Sichuan pepper, strawberry, coconut, pomegranate, grapefruit, and Supasawa. A non-alcoholic version is also available alongside a second sophisticated serve, the X.O Old Fashioned that blends Hennessy X.O, kumquat saccharum, and Peychaud Bitters served with a gold snake encased in an ice cube for an extra touch of luxury.
Hakkasan Abu Dhabi will enhance the Chinese New Year festivities with traditional lion dance performances on 29th January 2024, offering a vibrant and symbolic display of good luck and prosperity. Guests will also be invited to take part in the bespoke wishing ribbon tradition by inscribing their hopes for the year ahead onto beautifully designed ribbons, which will be elegantly displayed throughout the restaurant.
