Riyadh : The Saudi Winter program, launched this year by the Saudi Tourism Authority under the slogan “Winter in the Life,” offers nature and adventure enthusiasts from the Kingdom and beyond the chance to explore the diverse destinations in Hail, known as the “Bride of the North.” Hail not only presents rich historical experiences but also creates a vibrant tourism atmosphere that connects mountain foothills with the warmth of traditional gatherings.
Hail is characterized by its natural, geographical, heritage, and cultural diversity, blending an ancient legacy with a modern, dynamic spirit that appeals to those seeking both tranquility and adventure. The region’s towering mountains and vast deserts make it an ideal destination for camping, desert excursions, and mountain hiking, particularly at Mount Aja.
The area is home to numerous ancient historical sites, attracting heritage enthusiasts, with the archaeological city of Jubbah recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The inscriptions at Jabal Umm Sinman tell the stories of ancient peoples, serving as a global window into the lives of early Arabs.
For relaxation, stargazing, and wildlife exploration, Hail boasts many attractive destinations. Visitors can explore Hatim al-Tai Palace in Tuwaran, which embodies the region’s legendary generosity. The Al-Aziziyah Farm in Al-Khat is a comprehensive tourist and sports center that has hosted the Hail Drift Championship, offering activities such as horse and camel shows, paragliding, green spaces, and family picnic areas.
Moreover, visitors can immerse themselves in the region’s culture and history at the Hayr Al-Surur Museum, depicting traditional Saudi life in a heritage mud-brick house, enhanced by authentic Hail hospitality.

On the modern side, Al-Adham stands out among the mountains, offering a tranquil natural setting alongside cultural experiences suitable for families and heritage lovers. The destination features a diverse annual program, including the monthly “Qumrah” event, showcasing the Samri dance and traditional music. Equestrian shows are held at the beginning of each month, celebrating the rich tradition of horsemanship, while various cafes and relaxation areas provide a comfortable atmosphere amidst stunning scenery.
Notably, Hail served as the final stop on His Excellency the Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khatib’s Northern Route tour, which began in Riyadh and passed through Thadiq and Qassim. During this tour, he visited several key tourist sites corresponding to the Saudi Winter program.
This year’s Saudi Winter program highlights the Kingdom’s incredible diversity, showcasing its expansive geography, rich culture, and varied climates. With more than 1,200 tourism products and over 600 special offers, alongside participation from more than 100 private sector partners, the program enhances tourist experiences and reinforces the Kingdom’s position as a leading global tourist destination.
