Dubai, United Arab Emirates-: Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul is delighted to introduce an extraordinary culinary journey this Ramadan. Available until 9 April, the hotel’s Ramadan menu invites gourmands to experience a delicious celebration of Turkish tradition and Ottoman heritage.
The lavish menu has been created by the hotel’s acclaimed culinary team working alongside award-winning chef and food historian Ömür Akkor, who returns as Guest Chef during the holy month. Their joint mission is to take diners on a delicious journey through time and across Türkiye. The result is a wide-ranging menu that includes regional specialties as well as historic Ottoman dishes.
For Iftar, diners are immersed in an atmosphere that features beautiful views across the Bosphorus, an abundance of fragrant pink roses, and live music played on a traditional qanun. Tables are laden with a rich array of fruits, nuts, breads, soups, starters, meat dishes and desserts – all of which play meaningful roles in Türkiye’s culinary heritage.
The Ramadan menu features a tempting array of cold and hot Anatolian dishes, such as White ‘Ezine’ Cheese, traditional Kanlica Yoghurt, Halhali Green Olives, Zahter Salad, Tahini Shakshuka, Lahmacun (flat bread with minced meat), and the iconic Doner. The selection of soups and mains varies each day and is highlighted by traditional favourites such as fresh Tarragon Soup, Lebeniye (yoghurt and herb) Soup, Lamb Tandir with Oriental Rice, Ankara Tava (lamb shank with pilaf), Sour Meatball Kebab, and Roasted Chicken on Wheat. The menu also includes Barley and Wheat Bread with Dates based on a historic recipe from the early period in Islamic cuisine.
