Global Food Week 2026 Expands with New Consumer-Facing Experience
Global Food Week 2026 is set to introduce a new format in Abu Dhabi, combining business-to-business (B2B) activities with consumer-facing experiences to create additional opportunities for investment, product discovery and commercial growth across the food and beverage industry.
The expanded format will enable visitors to explore local and international food products, interact directly with brands and producers, and purchase products from across the food value chain. By bringing trade, innovation and consumer engagement together, the event aims to strengthen connections between businesses and the markets they serve.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), Global Food Week is organised by ADNEC Group, a Modon company, in strategic partnership with ADAFSA.
The new model is designed to broaden the event’s commercial reach while providing businesses with opportunities to showcase products, gather market feedback and explore new routes to growth.
Global Food Week 2026 Connects Businesses and Consumers
A major feature of Global Food Week 2026 will be a dedicated platform for direct engagement between producers and consumers. The initiative will provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, local producers, farmers and specialist exhibitors with opportunities to present their products to potential customers.
Participating businesses will be able to introduce new products, demonstrate innovations and receive direct feedback from consumers. These interactions can help businesses understand purchasing preferences and identify opportunities to refine products and strengthen their market presence.
The consumer-facing component also creates an additional route to sales, complementing the event’s established role as a meeting point for businesses, investors and industry stakeholders.
For smaller producers and emerging food brands, access to customers can be particularly valuable when building awareness and assessing demand. The combined format is intended to give exhibitors access to both commercial buyers and individual consumers within one event environment.
Eight Specialised Sectors Across the Food Value Chain
Global Food Week 2026 will feature eight specialised sectors covering different areas of the food and beverage industry. The programme includes dedicated spaces for honey, dates, beverages, agritech, farmers, animal feed, local food and beverage businesses, and international food and beverage companies and industry enablers.
Together, these sectors are designed to showcase products, agricultural technologies, local expertise and international business opportunities.
Honey Sector Highlights Producers and Products
The Honey sector will bring together beekeepers and honey producers, giving visitors opportunities to discover products from different suppliers and learn more about the market.
Direct engagement between producers and consumers can help businesses communicate product characteristics, build brand recognition and introduce new offerings to potential customers.
Dates Sector Celebrates UAE Agricultural Heritage
The Dates sector will feature the 12th edition of the Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition, highlighting the UAE’s heritage in date palm cultivation and date production.
Dates remain an important part of the country’s food culture and agricultural identity. The dedicated sector will provide a platform for producers and exhibitors to showcase their products while connecting traditional expertise with commercial opportunities.
The exhibition also reinforces the role of local agricultural products within the wider food value chain.
Beverage Sector Introduces Interactive Tastings
A new Beverage sector will offer interactive tasting experiences featuring international brands and specialist craft producers.
The format will allow visitors to explore different products directly and engage with the businesses behind them. For participating companies, tastings can provide an opportunity to introduce new products, communicate brand identity and gather feedback from potential customers.
The sector adds another consumer-focused element to the event’s wider business programme.
Agritech Sector Showcases Agricultural Innovation
The Agritech sector will give visitors an opportunity to discover agricultural solutions and technologies designed to support the farming industry.
Agricultural technology can contribute to more informed production decisions, resource management and operational efficiency. Bringing technology providers and industry stakeholders together can also support knowledge exchange and help businesses identify relevant solutions.
The sector forms part of Global Food Week’s broader focus on innovation across the food value chain.
Farmers Sector Creates Direct Market Access
The Farmers sector will allow visitors to purchase fresh produce directly from farmers while discovering products from local agricultural businesses.
Direct sales can create an additional route to market for participating producers and strengthen their engagement with consumers. The format also gives visitors a more direct connection to the people responsible for growing their food.
By bringing farmers into the event environment, Global Food Week aims to connect agricultural production with consumer demand.
Animal Feed Sector Focuses on Livestock Nutrition
The Animal Feed sector will showcase innovations in livestock nutrition, bringing attention to an important component of agricultural production.
Animal feed plays a role in livestock management and the wider agricultural supply chain. The dedicated zone will provide a platform for businesses to present relevant products and developments to industry participants.
This sector complements the event’s coverage of food production, agricultural technology and related services.
Local F&B Sector Supports SMEs and Start-Ups
A dedicated platform for SMEs and local food and beverage businesses will help entrepreneurs connect directly with consumers.
Participating businesses will have opportunities to introduce products, strengthen brand awareness and gather immediate market feedback. These interactions may help smaller companies identify areas for product improvement and assess how their offerings resonate with customers.
For start-ups and emerging producers, the platform offers a way to engage with the market while building relationships that can support future business development.
International F&B and Industry Enablers Expand Trade Opportunities
Global Food Week will continue to attract international companies and brands through its International F&B sector, including national pavilions that bring together businesses from different markets.
The event will also feature a Leaders & Enablers sector connecting government entities, companies, investors and providers of technology, services and logistics solutions.
These platforms are intended to support business meetings, commercial discussions and strategic partnerships across the food and beverage industry. By bringing suppliers and enabling services together, the event can help participants explore opportunities across different stages of the value chain.
A Dual Model for Business Growth and Market Access
The combination of trade-focused activities and consumer engagement is a central feature of Global Food Week 2026.
Traditional business events provide opportunities for companies to meet buyers, investors and potential partners. Adding direct consumer interaction creates another way for exhibitors to introduce products, generate sales and understand market preferences.
For exhibitors, this dual model may help broaden the commercial value of participation. Businesses can engage with qualified trade audiences while also presenting products to individual consumers.
The format could be particularly relevant for companies looking to test new offerings, increase brand visibility or explore expansion into regional and international markets.
The event’s combination of product showcases, business meetings and consumer-facing activities is designed to connect commercial opportunities with practical market engagement.
Abu Dhabi Strengthens Its Position as a Food Trade Hub
Abu Dhabi’s role as host reflects its ambitions to strengthen trade and investment across the food and beverage sector. The emirate’s location between major markets in the East and West, alongside its business infrastructure, supports its position as a potential gateway for companies seeking regional and international opportunities.
Food security, innovation and economic diversification are also important elements of the UAE’s broader development priorities.
By bringing producers, technology providers, investors, government entities and consumers together, Global Food Week creates a setting for discussions and commercial engagement across different parts of the food value chain.
The event’s expanded format also gives local producers and smaller businesses an opportunity to engage with international brands and industry stakeholders within the same platform.
Global Food Week 2026 Opens New Opportunities for the Food Industry
Global Food Week 2026 is broadening its approach by connecting trade activity with consumer access, product discovery and direct market engagement.
Its eight specialised sectors cover agricultural production, technology, food products, livestock nutrition and industry services, reflecting the interconnected nature of the food value chain.
For SMEs, start-ups, farmers and established brands, the consumer-facing platform is intended to create additional opportunities to present products, gather feedback and explore commercial growth. Meanwhile, the event’s international pavilions and industry-focused activities will continue to support business connections and potential partnerships.
Organised by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with ADAFSA, Global Food Week continues to position Abu Dhabi as a meeting point for food businesses and industry stakeholders.
