Seychelles’ first and oldest resort begins an innovative transformation

The famed Fisherman’s Cove Resort, located on the northwestern coast of Mahé Island in the Seychelles, will temporarily close its doors on May 31st, 2025, to undergo extensive renovation.

Part of international hotel management company STORY Hospitality’s distinguished portfolio since 2020, the beloved property, the Seychelles’ first and oldest hotel, has a storied history, opening as a guest house in 1943. It transitioned into a fully-fledged resort after the opening of the Seychelles International Airport in 1972.

The resort will undergo extensive renovation, maintaining its distinct Creole heritage and flavour and enhancing substantially the resort’s offerings.

Over the next two years, the prime property will be modernized, upgraded from a four-star to a five-star resort, and become a benchmark venue among STORY Hotels & Resorts expanding portfolio.

The exciting transformation marks the beginning of a new era, with the resort set to return reimagined and more inspiring than ever, while staying true to its rich heritage and timeless charm.
