Today, Jeddah had the distinct honor of welcoming the iconic Italian Navy training ship, Amerigo Vespucci, marking its inaugural visit to Saudi Arabia in its 93-year history.
The ship arrived gracefully at the Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina, a venue renowned for its stunning waterfront views and modern architecture.
The day’s events commenced with a formal ceremony attended by esteemed guests, including government officials, high-ranking military personnel, members of the media, and the Consul General of Italy, Mr. Leonardo Costa. The presence of Italian business leaders further underscored the significance of this occasion, highlighting the deepening ties between Italy and Saudi Arabia.
This majestic vessel will be open to the public starting January 27, 2025, and visitors will have the chance to step aboard and explore its storied decks. The Amerigo Vespucci’s visit is part of the “Vespucci World Tour,” an initiative that showcases Italy’s rich culture, heritage, and craftsmanship.
