Because stories, like generosity, are meant to be shared.
This Ramadan, Bookends is inviting the community to share the gift of reading through a simple Pay It Forward book exchange, built on the idea that stories are meant to be shared. The concept is straightforward: customers purchase a book and leave it behind for the next reader, often with a short, handwritten note.
The next person can then choose a book that has already been paid for – and, in turn, add another book of their choice to the pool for someone else. There are no set values, vouchers or sign-ups involved. Instead, the initiative grows organically as readers support readers, creating a continuous cycle of generosity throughout the holy month.
Founded by two mothers who recognised both the rising cost of books and how quickly children outgrow them, Bookends was built on accessibility, sustainability and community connection. This Ramadan initiative brings those values to life in a quiet, human way – one book, one note, one reader at a time.
