Kids can partake in the Emirati tradition of Hag Al Laila at Yas Mall on Saturday, 24 February.
Abu Dhabi-: In the run-up to Ramadan, Yas Mall will be celebrating the age-old Emirati tradition of Hag Al Laila on Saturday, 24 February 2024, from 3pm – 6pm. Kids aged 15 years or younger will be able to join in on the fun for free by dressing up and collecting sweet treats from participating retailers.
The Emirati custom falls on the 15th day of the Hijri month of Shaban and comes with a special experience that brings communities together. Traditionally, young children dress up in traditional clothes and go around the neighborhood collecting sweet treats in colourful woven bags.
Those wanting to join in on the fun at Yas Mall this year are invited to register at the Yas Mall Customer Service Desk on the Lower Ground Floor on the day before 3pm. Upon registration, each child will receive a welcome pack with a Yas Mall branded giveaway and a mall map showing all the participating stores that little ones can explore, collecting yummy candy and other sweet treats along the way.
Participating stores include Tryano, La Brioche, Lolli and Pops, Toys R Us, Kidz Factory, Vincci, Little Scissors, Okaidi, Daiso, Kids Puzzle, Beverly Café, Petit Batue, Al Jaber Optical, I SEE, and Baby Spa.
Participation in the Hag Al Laila event is free. Welcome packs are limited and children (aged 15 years or younger) must be physically present to claim it.
For a memorable experience, participating children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian as they journey through the mall collecting candy.
