“National Transportation Solutions Company, “NTSC,” a division of the Petromin Corporation, and Riyadh Air Unveil First Electric Bus in Strategic Partnership”
Riyadh, KSA- In a groundbreaking initiative, Petromin National Transportation Solutions Company (NTSC), a division of the Petromin Corporation has partnered with Riyadh Air to provide this new digitally native airline with all of their sustainable mobility needs. The first step in that collaborative endeavor was the handover of the first electric coach bus designed specifically for employee transportation. This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to embrace sustainable transportation solutions.
The newly launched electric bus, featuring a 44+1 seating configuration, is powered by a robust 350kWh battery pack, offering an estimated range of 270 kilometers on a single charge. This innovation is set to revolutionize the way Riyadh Air manages its employee transfers, ensuring an eco-friendly and efficient mode of transportation.
The event commenced with VIPs gathering at the Riyadh Air headquarters, followed by a tour and a ceremonial boarding of the new electric bus. A group photo session took place in front of the iconic RX logo background, capturing this historic moment.
This strategic partnership goes beyond just the introduction of an electric bus. It also encompasses the development of infrastructure for charging stations and maintenance facilities to ensure a comprehensive support system for the new fleet. Both NTSC as member of Petromin Corporation and Riyadh Air are looking forward to extending this partnership, with plans to introduce additional electric vehicles (EVs) for crew transportation, baggage handling, airside electric buses for passengers, etc., in the near future.
The electric bus launch aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives, which emphasize sustainability and environmental conservation. This initiative showcases the potential of public-private partnerships in driving forward the nation’s green agenda.
