TWG Tea Gallery Opens at Singapore Changi Airport as the Brand’s Largest Global Flagship

TWG Tea Gallery has opened at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3, introducing the luxury tea brand’s largest global flagship and a new concept in luxury travel retail. Spanning 2,700 square feet beneath a 23-foot-high ceiling, the destination brings together a tea boutique, curated accessories, bespoke gifting, takeaway tea and tea-infused gourmet creations. It also houses the first-ever TWG Tea Museum, featuring a collection of antique tea wares and Russian samovars. Open around the clock, the flagship reinforces Singapore’s importance to TWG Tea and its continued investment in international travel retail.

TWG Tea Gallery Sets a New Benchmark in Luxury Travel Retail

Designed as an immersive expression of the brand’s craftsmanship and savoir-faire, TWG Tea Gallery invites travellers to explore rare harvests, distinctive blends and the traditions associated with tea. Its location within one of the world’s leading aviation hubs provides an opportunity to introduce the brand’s offerings to international travellers.

The flagship brings together several elements of the TWG Tea experience in one space. Visitors can explore the Tea Boutique, browse tea accessories, discover bespoke gifting options and purchase freshly prepared takeaway beverages and gourmet products.

A striking tea wall displaying more than 1,200 tea tins anchors the interior, creating a prominent visual feature within the boutique. Above, a soaring ceiling and carefully considered design elements establish a setting that connects tea’s cultural history with contemporary luxury retail.

The opening also introduces exclusive creations developed specifically for Changi Airport, including Grand Voyage Tea, the Singapore Surprise Gift Set and a selection of tea-infused macarons, chocolate bonbons, ice cream and sorbet.

TWG Tea Museum Celebrates Centuries of Tea Heritage

A collection of antique tea wares and samovars

One of the defining features of TWG Tea Gallery is the TWG Tea Museum, which showcases more than 170 antique tea wares and decorative objects spanning different cultures and eras. The collection also includes more than 50 antique Russian samovars dating from the 17th to the 20th centuries.

The pieces have been personally curated by the brand over the past 15 years from around the world. Together, they offer visitors an opportunity to explore the craftsmanship, artistic traditions and cultural exchanges that have shaped tea throughout history.

Among the highlights are Yixing clay teapots, valued for their craftsmanship and provenance and traditionally marked by their makers. The collection also includes Chinese and Western tea wares that illustrate changing approaches to form and decoration from the 18th century to the present day.

Blue-and-white ceramics reflecting Chinese-Islamic artistic exchange sit alongside porcelain that was once prized in Europe as “white gold”. These objects demonstrate how tea traditions travelled across cultures, influencing the objects, designs and rituals associated with its consumption.

The museum’s Russian collection adds another dimension to the experience. Its more than 50 antique samovars include notable 19th- and early-20th-century examples from the celebrated workshops of Tula and beyond. Pieces associated with makers such as the Batashev and Shemarin brothers carry distinctive hallmarks that attest to their provenance and craftsmanship.

Design inspired by the global journey of tea

The museum’s narrative continues throughout the flagship’s architecture. A hand-painted ceiling depicting a luminous world tea map serves as the space’s defining design feature.

Through intricate motifs and rich colours, the ceiling traces tea’s global journey and creates a visual connection between the museum collection and the contemporary retail environment. Its design reinforces the idea of tea as a product shaped by journeys, cultural exchange and generations of craftsmanship.

For travellers passing through Changi Airport Terminal 3, the combination of historical objects, architectural details and contemporary retail creates an experience that extends beyond a conventional boutique visit.
