Over 40 new performances and mall activations are set to thrill the whole family with free access throughout August

Families can take their picks from immersive movie-themed experiences, gaming tournaments, live music and dance, sports and acrobatic shows, flash mobs, roaming parades, and much more

 

Dubai, United Arab Emirates-: Destinations across Dubai have revealed a packed calendar of more than 40 exciting new performances and mall entertainment for the second-half of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2024, bringing incredible ways to thrill and entertain the whole family. Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), residents and visitors can not only find amazing deals and big-brand promotions at the city’s world-class shopping malls and retail hubs, but also enjoy free access to live music and entertainment with family and friends.

City Centre Mirdif is bringing amazing family fun chanting live entertainment to shoppers upon spends of AED 200 at participating stores. A brand-new addition to the DSS August calendar is a captivating Kung Fu Panda Show with three thrilling performances every day – but shoppers should catch it before it concludes on 4 August. Adding to the excitement are brand-new performances by the World Champion Double Dutch team, who will wow mall visitors with their outstanding jump rope routines on 24 and 25 August. Meanwhile, young gamers, esports fans, tech enthusiasts, and trendsetters can join a thrilling Gaming Festival that will be hosted at the mall every day, with renowned streamers, sponsors, and big-name gaming event organisers coming together to celebrate Dubai’s vibrant e-gaming culture gamers.

Visitors to Mall of the Emirates can catch an all-new Rock & Roll Flash Mob on 10 and 11 August, featuring show-stopping performances by talented dancers and acrobats.

At Dubai Festival City Mall, the much-loved music, light, and projection show, IMAGINE, has been enhanced exclusively for the summer season. Visitors can also catch new and exciting performances every weekend of DSS, including a Violinist in the Bubble on 10 and 11 August, a stunning Super Trampoline acrobatic show on 17 and 18 August, and a Vintage Vacation dance act on 31 August and 1 September.

Shoppers can slide into summer surprises at Mercato with free circus entertainment and a free slide experience every day until 1 September. New this month for families and friends is spectacular live entertainment by the spectacular Harlequinn European Circus, a Magic Comedy Show by industry sensation Jon Udry, and everyone’s favourite magician Magic Phil. Plus, creative workshops for children offer endless excitement and fun for everyone.

Nakheel Mall welcomes Ice Cream Jesters on 17-18 August, featuring performers adorned in costumes that mimic scoops of ice cream, sprinkles, and syrup drizzles, creating an enchanting visual feast for shoppers.

Ibn Battuta Mall hosts a Flower Funk Parade on 10-11 August, featuring a spectacular floral discotheque on the move. Meanwhile, AstroLab sessions from 16 August – 1 September help children unleash their creativity with robot building, LEGO robotics, 3D printing, and Minecraft activities.

The roaming acts head to Circle Mall on 17-18 August.

Summer at City Walk is more exciting than ever this DSS, with indoor live entertainment featuring performances by talented guitarists and cello players on 10-11 August and 24-25 August.

Shoppers spending a day at The Outlet Village can catch an enchanting Candy Pop Parade on 17-18 August.

Plenty of DSS excitement awaits visitors to Dubai’s outdoor hotspots until 31 August, including Al Khawaneej Walk, Last Exit Al Khawaneej, Last Exit Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Last Exit Al Qudra, Al Seef, and Boxpark. Friends and families can enjoy a range of celebratory live musical entertainment, alongside an array of exclusive offers across dining, shopping, beauty, entertainment, and much more.

Everyone’s favourite Dubai mascot Modesh marks his 25th anniversary this year and invites families and friends to join in the celebrations as he makes appearances at malls across the city every weekend. Meet-and-greets with Modesh and his friend Dana will brighten shoppers’ days this weekend as they head to Dragon Mart and Dubai Parks & Resorts on 3 August, as well as The View at The Palm and Circle Mall on 4 August. The following weekends, the lovable characters are scheduled to greet shoppers at Roxy Cinemas at Dubai Hills Mall on 7 August, Ibn Battuta Mall and Dubai Festival Plaza on 10 August, Mall of the Emirates on 11 August, City Centre Mirdif and Dubai Festival City Mall on 17 August, and City Centre Deira and City Centre Al Shindagha on 18 August. They’ll close out the month with visits to City Centre Me’aisem and Barsha Mall, before returning to Mall of the Emirates, Circle Mall, Dragon Mart, and The View at The Palm by the end of the month.
