Jeddah’s hidden restaurant, the Korean restaurant “Sora”, has been open since May 2015. Hansik is an expression for Korean food.“Han” means Korea, “sik” means food, and “sura” refers to the food served to kings in the distant past.

In today’s reading, the information on the restaurants located in the following restaurants appears and they closed their doors in a year or two. I visited Sora today to find out the secret behind their 8 years of selling dishes.

Sora is located in a commercial area called Al-Rawda complex in Al-Rawda district. The exterior of the building is clean and modern since their renovation of the building. When you enter, the modern exterior, inside Sora you will feel the Korean heritage, and the seats, the distinctive floor adjacent to the windows, the dining room is decorated with stone and wood giving the Korean sense of beauty.

The directives of the uniformed employee, designed with a modern sense of Korean heritage clothing, and the pending customer messages. The staircase wall caught my eye.

It was then that I learned that many famous people visited Surat in these eight years.

Today’s menu is called Han-jeongsik. Hanjeongsik is a table of hot Korean food. The full menu contains 8 dishes made with care by the chef and presented carefully according to the menu delicious appetizers were served, followed by a comforting porridge before the meal, and a Korean-style salad was served. With a “sincerity” completely different from what I felt when imagining Korean food. The color and taste of the food was well used. The nutritionally balanced ingredients were impressive. It was a distinctive and luxurious taste that I had not tasted before in all the Korean dishes that I made. I ate it afterwards. I seriously felt like filling my stomach with sora, the food served to kings. And that was the moment when I fell in love with the magic of Korean food. The Korean CEO Dennis Kang who runs Sora once said that the charm of Korean food lies in its sincerity. It contains. Korean food has many flavors using many ingredients and recipes. But even so, they are willing to go through a difficult experience while preparing food to create a deep taste.

As he said, we finished our meal with a sense of their “sincerity” and were happy with this very special experience. On my way out after the meal, I caught a glimpse of a sign for the shop next door, which read, “Korean Barbecue.” In 2018, 3 years after opening “Sora” in 2015, they opened “Howaru”, a Korean charcoal grill restaurant, and last year, they opened “Suramyeon,” which specializes in Korean noodles and dumplings. He said that there are many hidden restaurants that have existed for 20 to 30 years in Korea, and this is exactly what describes Sora Restaurant.

The Korean, as it maintains its unchanging taste and taste, will remain a hidden restaurant for all Korean food lovers. Nowadays, interest in Korean culture has increased alongside Korean technology, such as K-pop, K-drama, and korean movies. If you want to taste Korean food, it would be great to visit Sora.
