Riyadh – -: The Heritage Commission opened the second edition of the Saudi International Handicrafts Week Exhibition “Banan”, with events that highlight the handicrafts, with the aim of supporting and empowering craftsmen, showcasing their creativity, and enhancing their capabilities, at the Roshan Front in Riyadh, and will continue until November 29.
The exhibition includes a variety of pavilions and events that enrich visitors’ experiences, including: the Arts and Crafts Village, the Live Crafts Shows Pavilion, the Crafts Exhibition, in addition to the Crafts Workshops Pavilion, the Interactive Experiences Area, the Entrepreneurs and Crafts Institutions Platform, as well as the Children’s Pavilion that offers activities dedicated to children.
More than 500 craftsmen and craftswomen from the Kingdom are participating in “Banan”, and the exhibition is witnessing the participation of 25 countries around the world, making it a unique platform that celebrates traditional handicrafts, contributes to supporting craftsmen economically and enables them to market their products, so that the Heritage Commission has made this a goal in raising awareness of the importance of handicrafts as part of the intangible cultural heritage, and ensuring their continuity and transmission to future generations.
The Heritage Commission confirmed that the “Banan” exhibition reflects its commitment to developing the crafts sector in accordance with the goals of the National Strategy for Culture derived from Saudi Vision 2030, as the exhibition seeks to be a distinctive cultural event that enhances the Kingdom’s position in the field of handicrafts in the international arena.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi International Handicrafts Week opens its doors to visitors throughout the week from 4 pm to 11 pm, except for Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am to 11 pm
