Dubai-: Tamoka and Caña by Tamoka, the ultimate beachside dining destination in the heart of JBR, announces the appointment of Mina Kokanovic as the new General Manager. With her extensive experience and proven track record in the F&B industry, Kokanovic brings a wealth of expertise to her new role.
Tamoka brings the vibrant cultures and flavors of the Caribbean’s Antillean islands, offering al fresco dining, live music, daily rituals and sublime beach ambiance. Tamoka’s little sister, Caña, is a picturesque beach bar with unique mixology, DJ performances and laid-back Latin American snacks.
Since relocating to Dubai in 2015, Kokanovic started her career at Zuma, where she held multiple positions and played a pivotal role in supporting the restaurant’s private dining area. She then assumed the role of Assistant General Manager at Le Cirque, spearheading the recruitment, training, and positioning of the entire front-of-house team for the launch of the restaurant. Kokanovic continued to build her expertise as the Cluster F&B Operations Manager at JA Resorts, and most recently, General Manager at Shimmers in Jumeirah Mina A’Salam.
“With venues in such a prime location and boasting a fascinating origin story concept, I am honored to be leading the Tamokan Tribe,” Mina Kokanovic said, “We aim to bring to life the venues’ legendary rum-running story through a variety of intriguing future initiatives, further giving our loyal customers a reason to return and attracting new guests. We’re currently planning for the summer season, with many exciting post-summer activations in the pipeline that we can’t wait for guests to experience and enjoy.”
