Dubai, UAE -: Tabu, the iconic restaurant nestled within the heart of The St. Regis Downtown Dubai, has undergone a stunning transformation, moving from its former home on the 23rd floor to an all-new location on the Mezzanine level. The restaurant has been reimagined with a refined and mature aesthetic, boasting an enticing blend of Middle Eastern and Asian influences. Tabu offers a stylish and trendy atmosphere where the focus is squarely on the gourmet experience, showcasing an exceptional array of Middle Eastern and Asian cuisines.

With a design that exudes seamless elegance, Tabu introduces guests to a captivating ambience that reflects unique inspirations and timeless design. The restaurant is a sanctuary of culinary storytelling, emphasising the rich tapestry of flavours from around the world, all underpinned by a commitment to using the best locally sourced ingredients and international influences to create a truly breathtaking dining experience.

Tabu’s culinary artistry is led by a dynamic duo of chefs, with St. Regis Executive Chef Juan Luis collaborating with the talented Head Chef of Tabu, Mohamad Alshemali. Together, they craft a menu that brings together the best of various influences –Middle Eastern and Asian techniques and ingredients are utilised to create dishes that are nothing short of a masterpiece.

The menu is a gastronomes dream, with dishes to suit every palate and taste and epicureans are in for a real treat as they traverse the culinary world without leaving Dubai. From the East, diners can enjoy a range of bites including Crispy Rice Wagyu Beef served with truffle dressing, and O-toro Tartare with sesame cones, avo-yuzu koshu, caviar, and gold. Up next, a delectable array of Nigiri and Maki awaits before moving on to hot and cold starters such as Salmon Usuzukuri style, Seabass Ceviche, Salmon Teriyaki, and Wagyu Beef Kushiyaki.

Culinary adventurers can then move to the Middle, where another extensive selection of taste sensations await. Indulge in sumptuous bites, salads, plus hot and cold starters including Wagyu Beef Tartare, Patlican, Lakerda, Prawns Kibbeh with fresh herbs, Midye, Ispanak Pide, and much more that will be sure to get your mouth watering.

The journey of discovery doesn’t end there as Tabu also boasts the most tempting collection of signature dishes, each crafted with meticulous care using only the freshest ingredients. Some of the standout menu items include the Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib served with Japanese rice and shiitake mushroom, the Salmon Fillet with ponzu-teriyaki sauce, sesame mashed potato and asparagus, the “Black” black cod complete with black miso-gomae sauce, quinoa and caviar, and the Kuzu Pirzola comprising spicy grilled lamb cutlets, artichoke, fava beans and minted labneh. Meat lovers can enjoy the likes of Wagyu Mayura MB 7+ tenderloin and Black Angus Tomahawk straight from the grill while an array of tempting sides is on hand as well to complement your stunning meal.

Entertainment at Tabu has also been thoughtfully curated to complement the dining experience. Patrons can enjoy roaming theatrical entertainment from Tuesday to Saturday, featuring the same captivating costumes that Tabu has been known for since its inception. A live DJ sets the ambience during the evenings, spinning tunes from 8 PM to 1 AM during the week and extending the groove until 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. The music evolves gradually throughout the evening, ensuring a captivating but not overwhelming experience for diners.

Tabu Restaurant’s doors are open to guests from Sunday to Thursday, from 12.30 PM to 1.00 AM, with the kitchen last order accepted until 12 midnight. On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant extends its operation hours, serving guests from 12.30 PM to 2.00 AM, with the kitchen last order at 1.00 AM.
