Few dishes evoke the timeless romance of culinary craftsmanship quite like steak tartare, a symphony of raw elegance and sophisticated flavour that transcends the ordinary. Originating in the heart of France in the 1900s, steak tartare has become a symbol of French culinary artistry. Building on the success of its Escargot Festival earlier this year, Couqley is set to once again capture the essence of rich cultural French heritage with its summer offering: the ‘Steak Tartare on Ice Festival’ designed to blend tradition with innovation. Available up to the 31st of August, at both the cosy venue in JLT and the vibrant outpost in Downtown with its recently enclosed outdoor terrace, guests are invited to savour this delicacy presented in 5 different variations including Couqley’s Signature French Tartare.

In a uniquely innovative twist, the dish that has graced Parisian menus for a century is now getting its own summer celebration at Couqley. Using the highest quality of fresh, lean beef, and complemented by vibrant ingredients, Couqley is presenting four creative variations of the Steak Tartare. Starting at AED 79, guests can enjoy any of Couqley’s innovative variations each served with a side curated to complement the unique flavours. In addition to its Signature French Steak Tartare, Couqley is celebrating aromas from the Mediterranean with the Beef Tartare Méditerranée, a finely chopped raw steak seasoned and blended with sundried tomatoes, Kalamata olives, anchovy aioli, Pecorino cheese, capers, shallots, basil, and egg yolk, served with Za’atar and Sumac pita bread on the side. For a spicier option, the Chipotle Latino Beef Tartare features finely chopped raw steak seasoned with Morita chilli oil, tequila, cilantro, lime, egg yolk, and pickled shallots, topped with avocado and microgreens, and served with crispy plantain chips. For those seeking an even more elevated twist, the Wagyu Shiitake Miso Truffle offers top-grade, served over thinly sliced raw Wagyu ribeye with a marble score of 9+, blended with truffle, miso, yuzu, and a medley of Shiitake, Portobello, and Button mushrooms, pickled Enoki, and Japanese mayo, topped with Tobiko and served with tempura Shiso leaves. Finally, for those seeking a vegetarian option, the Summer Fresh Garden Tartare features roasted beetroot, citrus-infused rhubarb, and chopped avocado in an apple ginger passion fruit sauce, served with toasted baguette on the side for AED 59.

Couqley’s interpretation of the French dish celebrates Dubai’s rich diversity, by encouraging guests to embark on a culinary journey that reflects the city’s vibrant tapestry of cultures and flavours. Until the 31st of August, customers are invited to venture into Couqley’s world of Steak Tartare on Ice Festival with two daring tasting platters. The first, priced at AED 199, is the Tartare on Ice Tasting Platter featuring all 5 variations including the vegetarian option, and the second, priced at AED 169, the Steak Tartare on Ice Tasting Platter featuring only Couqley’s unique beef variations.

At Couqley, where French tradition is at its core, the Steak Tartare on Ice festival is more than just a celebration of a timeless delicacy—it’s a reimagination of a simple dish, infused with worldly flavours. Couqley promises the perfect blend of history and innovation with its Steak Tartare on Ice Festival, inviting Dubai’s food enthusiasts to experience French cuisine like never before.
