AlUla : AlUla is set to host the most epic and unforgettable fitness challenge to begin the New Year with the return of the AlUla Trail Race, taking place from 22-23 January 2026.
Set amidst stunning surroundings and ancient heritage sites, the AlUla Trail Race 2026 offers an unforgettable experience for athletes, families, and adventure seekers to experience the world-renowned historic site of AlUla through a series of breathtaking races that blend ancient history with determination and endurance.
From the towering sandstone monoliths of Elephant Rock to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hegra, the 2026 edition promises to be the largest and most immersive yet, supporting participants to kick start their 2026 fitness goals with an iconic challenge.

Inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to participate, the AlUla Trail Race 2026 offers six distinct categories, ensuring that everyone from elite ultramarathoners to beginners can participate in this historic event.
Six Ways to Experience AlUla Trail Run 2026
Ideal for young runners, the Kids Run features a fun 1.6km trail designed to encourage children between the ages of 5 and twelve to engage with fitness and achieve success in an iconic setting.
Showcasing the natural beauty of AlUla, the Sunset Run challenges participants to complete a 3km trail as the sun sets over the historic site, offering a golden hour spectacle around AlUla Old Town.
Challenging more experienced runners, the 10km Trail Run takes participants on a picturesque journey through AlUla Oasis, and the 23km Trail Run starts at one of AlUla’s most iconic locations, Elephant Rock, before taking runners on an unforgettable route throughout the UNESCO heritage site.
Pushing the distance further than a marathon, the 50km run is a formidable test of stamina for runners across ever-changing desert terrain, challenging participants to demonstrate grit, determination and endurance over a strenuous distance.
Finally, open to elite runners and challenge seekers searching for a unique test of body and mind, the Hegra 100k ultra marathon is a significant test of fitness and endurance, as runners take on a historic landscape while pushing themselves to the limits.
All competitive races culminate at the Old Town Amphitheatre, where runners will be greeted by the vibrant energy of the Race Village and the historic backdrop of the mud-brick Old Town. A total prize pool is available for top finishers in the 100KM, 50KM, 23KM, and 10KM categories.
Getting Race Ready
Every participant receives the official AlUla Trail Race 2026 Pack, including a tote bag, buff, race t-shirt, timing chip and bib number. Mandatory kit requirements vary by distance; longer routes require additional safety equipment to support runners across the rugged and remote terrain.
More than a sports challenge, the AlUla Trail Race creates an experience shaped by community and atmosphere. A fully activated Race Village will provide entertainment, dining options, music, and recovery services to ensure a memorable setting for athletes, friends, family members, and supporters who travel to witness the event.
Registration is now open, with entry fees beginning at SAR 100, and SAR 50 for the Kids Run. Participants can secure their place by booking through experiencealula.com. Race Arabia will then issue the formal registration link and final e-ticket containing route maps, race instructions, and preparation guidance.
