Jeddah SPA — Saudia has added 20 flights between Riyadh, Jeddah, and the Red Sea destination during Eid Al-Fitr, in cooperation with the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) and the Red Sea destination, as part of a partnership aimed at promoting tourist destinations and supporting the development of the Kingdom’s tourism sector. This brings the total number of flights in both directions to 44.

Saudia’s extra Red Sea flights

The long-term partnership between Saudia and STA aims to provide suitable flight options and a distinctive onboard experience, supporting the Kingdom’s goal of attracting 150 million tourists by 2030.

Saudia Expands Flight Options for Eid Al-Fitr Travel

Saudia’s additional flights between Riyadh, Jeddah and the Red Sea destination are designed to provide travellers with more flexibility during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday. By adding 20 flights and bringing the total number of services in both directions to 44, the airline is supporting travel demand during one of the Kingdom’s important holiday periods.

Eid Al-Fitr traditionally brings increased movement between Saudi cities as families reunite, residents plan short breaks and visitors explore domestic destinations. Additional flight capacity can help travellers coordinate their holiday plans more conveniently, particularly when demand for popular leisure destinations increases.

The cooperation between Saudia, the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) and the Red Sea destination reflects a broader effort to make domestic tourism more accessible. By aligning air connectivity with destination development, the partners aim to encourage more residents and visitors to discover Saudi Arabia’s expanding tourism offering.

Why the Red Sea Destination Is Attracting Travellers

Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast is emerging as a significant part of the Kingdom’s luxury tourism offering. Known for its marine environment, islands and coastal landscapes, the region is being developed around experiences that combine hospitality, relaxation and nature.

The destination is expected to appeal to travellers looking for a different type of Eid holiday, including beachfront accommodation, leisure activities and opportunities to experience the Red Sea’s natural surroundings. Depending on the property and activities available, visitors may be able to enjoy resort stays, marine excursions and other coastal experiences.

Improved air connectivity can play an important role in supporting this growth. Convenient connections from major cities such as Riyadh and Jeddah can make it easier for residents to consider the Red Sea for a short holiday rather than travelling internationally.

Saudia and the Saudi Tourism Authority Support Vision 2030

The partnership between Saudia and the Saudi Tourism Authority forms part of wider efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s tourism sector. Saudi Arabia has set an ambition to attract 150 million tourists annually by 2030, with improved connectivity and destination development playing important roles in achieving that target.

As the national airline, Saudia helps connect domestic travellers with destinations across the Kingdom while supporting inbound tourism. Additional seasonal flights can help accommodate periods of increased demand and give travellers more options when planning their journeys.

Collaboration between airlines, tourism organisations and destination operators also helps coordinate transport capacity with the development of hotels, attractions and visitor services. This approach can support the wider tourism ecosystem, benefiting accommodation providers, hospitality businesses and local tourism operators.

Planning an Eid Al-Fitr Trip to the Red Sea

Travellers considering the Red Sea for Eid Al-Fitr should check flight schedules, resort availability and transfer arrangements before confirming their plans. Demand can increase during holiday periods, so booking early may provide more choice in terms of travel times and accommodation.

Passengers should also confirm the latest flight details directly with Saudia, as schedules and availability may change. With additional services connecting Riyadh, Jeddah and the Red Sea destination, the initiative highlights the growing importance of domestic air travel in making Saudi Arabia’s emerging leisure destinations more accessible.
