TV writers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Asia, and Africa can submit their applications until March 22, 2025

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia-– Red Sea Labs, one of the Red Sea Film Foundation’s flagship programs, has announced the opening of applications for the third edition of the SeriesLab program, in collaboration with Film Independent, with submissions open until March 22, 2025. The program is designed to support TV writers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Asia, and Africa, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to develop their projects.
The SeriesLab is an intensive training initiative aimed at cultivating the talents of 16 TV writers and producers through a three-part, hybrid residency program. Participants will receive expert guidance, attend masterclasses, and engage in workshops led by renowned TV writers, showrunners, and industry professionals. The program provides a dynamic and supportive environment, empowering participants to successfully develop and pitch their television series pilots by its conclusion.
One of the program’s key highlights is an exclusive two-week trip to Los Angeles, where participants will take part in intensive training sessions and attend the Film Independent Forum—an event designed to inspire and empower filmmakers with the tools and connections needed to bring their projects to life.
The third edition of the SeriesLab will launch in March 2025 and conclude in December 2025, aligning with the fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival. The selected projects will have the opportunity to pitch their work at Red Sea Souk, presenting to international buyers, studios, networks, and producers.
