#RAKNYE 2023 to mesmerise visitors with fireworks display that aims to break two new Guinness World Records™️ with the most remote operated multirotors

Ras Al Khaimah, UAE-: Ras Al Khaimah, already the holder of several Guinness World Records for its legendary fireworks performances, is once again aiming to create a mesmerising New Year’s Eve spectacle, with the aim of securing two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™️.

Taking place along the stunning waterfront between Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra, the northernmost Emirate will be attempting to break the world record for the ‘Most Remote Operated Multirotors/Drones Launching Fireworks Simultaneously’, and set a new world record for the ‘Largest Aerial Sentence Formed by Multirotors/Drones’. Set to last an impressive 12 minutes, the dramatic fireworks display promises awe-inspiring moments with the compelling drone show, and sensational pyrotechnics.

Commenting on this year’s fireworks, Raki Phillips, Chief Executive Officer at Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said: “We are thrilled to be attempting another two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™️ for our #RAKNYE2023 celebrations. Known as the ‘nature’ Emirate, due to its unique topography, everything we do in Ras Al Khaimah is magical by nature and we look forward to welcoming visitors from across the world to experience this spectacular feat.”

This year’s Ras Al Khaimah News Year’s Eve celebration is even more special and larger, with a family-oriented festival offering the perfect viewing platform for midnight. Welcoming revellers of all ages, the family-friendly event will come alive at a dedicated viewing deck opposite Al Marjan Island, from 2pm to 2am, bursting with colour and sound for a New Year’s Eve like no other. Featuring an electrifying concert from some of the UAE’s best DJs and artists, including Sound of Nikhil, DJ Ash and Blues O’ Bantaloon the renowned band from Jordan, mesmerising carnival-like performances, crowd karaoke on stage, food trucks and much more, the festival will provide breath-taking views of the New Year’s Eve countdown and fireworks display. Kids under the age of 12 can enter for free while adults can purchase tickets for AED 10 from the ticketing office on site.

The sensational spectacle can also be viewed from any of the hotels lined up from Al Marjan Island to Al Hamra. The mega-island’s resorts are laying down the red carpet to welcome 2023 with special celebrations, scrumptious gala dinners and family-friendly fun so visitors can create magical moments.

Ras Al Khaimah has a strong track record for making history with its astounding New Year’s Eve celebrations, setting the world record for the ‘Highest Altitude Multirotor/Drone Firework Display’ at last year’s event. It also holds the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™️ titles for the ‘Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for Launching Fireworks Simultaneously’ and the ‘Longest Fireworks Waterfall,’ gained in 2020, as well as records for the ‘Longest chain of fireworks’ and the ‘Longest straight line of fireworks’ with its 2019 New Year’s Eve Fireworks.
