Cannes, France: Norah, a Saudi film directed by Tawfik Al Zaidi and starring Maria Bahrawi and Yaqoub AlFarhan,was screened today as part of Cannes Film festival’s ‘Un Certain Regard’ section. Itis the first Saudi film to be officially selected in its 77-year-history. Norah was backed by the Red Sea Fund – one of Red Sea Film Foundation’s programs – and was filmed entirely at AlUla in north-west Saudi Arabia with an all-Saudi cast, and a 40% Saudi crew.

The film has secured international distribution and is set for release in Saudi Arabia and around the globe on June 20, 2024.
