Doha, Qatar: A recent collaboration with QUEST Esports, one of the top Esports organizers in the Middle East and North Africa, PUBG Mobile and Qatar E-Sports Federation (QESF) to promote a new PUBG Mobile in-game mode which celebrated the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ has scored big time with competitors turning out for the Pop-Up activation at the QUEST Gaming District in Msheireb Downtown.

The collaboration led to PUBG Mobile’s biggest gaming activations and Esports initiatives in Qatar to coincide with the FIFA World Cup fever which gripped the nation and brought together football and Esports fans together. The activation saw four players at a time compete in hour long matches. Influencers also participated in the show matches and played as a team while special challenges, including PUBG Mobile game modes, were held daily with players competing online for prizes and giveaways. Successful players won QUEST commemorative rewards including QUEST Gaming District gaming hours, iTunes and PlayStation credits.

Coverage of the matches and challenges were broadcast live inside the Quest Gaming District on Sikkat Wadi Msheireb and outside on a giant projection screen while visitors enjoyed Lionel Messi’s PUBG Mobile collaboration costume which was on hand at the event.

Football and World Cup themes dominated the activation, which also had a number of photobooths where players got to photograph themselves with their favourite team’s national flag.

The promotion, QUEST’s first with both QESF and PUBG Mobile, was a success in promoting the Esports culture among visitors and residents and demonstrated Qatar’s significant progress in the thriving industry. QUEST will be looking for further collaborative initiatives with both partners, using this initiative as a launch pad in to 2023.

Established in 2019, QUEST has ranked among the elite Esports domain and is working with QESF to develop Esports within Qatar. Qatar has enormous potential to dominate the Esports industry and take the lead on a global scale. This is precisely what prompted the government to establish the QESF, which aims to boost both internal and external participation in the sport.

Courtesy of the country’s advanced infrastructure, which includes high-speed connectivity, high-end venues, accommodation, and ease of travel, among other things, Qatar is well-positioned; equipped, and ready to host major global Esports events.

Last year, the Doha-headquartered company managed five large LAN tournaments and online league matches for games such as Fortnite, CS: GO, PUBG Mobile, Dota 2, and FIFA. In addition, last May it organized Qatar’s first physical event and has previously partnered with Ooredoo to help launch the Ooredoo Thunders team and Ooredoo Arena tournaments.
