Jeddah, Saudi Arabia –-– This morning, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jeddah, Nestlé KSA (Nestle Health Science) and Zahra Breast Cancer Foundation signed a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch “My Cancer, My Nutrition,” an Arabic website dedicated to supporting cancer patients with healthy nutrition. The signing ceremony was attended by key stakeholders and featured a brunch, panel discussions, and inspirational stories from cancer survivors.

The MoU was officially signed by Robert Helou, CEO of Nestlé KSA, Bahrain & Oman, and Hanadi Aloutah, CEO of Zahra Breast Cancer Foundation. This collaboration marks a significant step in providing valuable nutritional guidance and support to Arabic-speaking cancer patients.

The event included two insightful panel discussions. The first panel at the event highlighted the intersection of Health and Nutrition, emphasizing Nestle’s active role in supporting cancer patients in the region. The discussion primarily focused on the critical role of nutrition in cancer care and showcased the collaborative efforts between Nestlé and Zahra Foundation, exemplified by the launch of the new website aimed at enhancing patient support.

Mr. Helou mentioned “What inspires Nestle to collaborate with Zahra is our shared vision, community impact, holistic approach to nutrition and effective resources to empower patients. In addition, as a leading nutrition company we have a responsibility to create shared value with our local communities. This is aligned with Nestle’s broader goals in Saudi Arabia as well in health and wellness, community engagement, vision 2030 alignment and our educational outreach programs.”

Hanzade Yaz, Business executive officer, Nestlé Health Science MENA, shed light on the importance of such strategic partnerships as well elaborating on the digital support NHS will provide Zahra. Dr. Suad Bin Amer the Founder of Zahra Breast Cancer Foundation reiterated and emphasized that partnerships create success, provide more tangible impact and positive outcomes.

The second panel featured emotional and educational stories from cancer survivors, influencers, and Dr. Omar Iskandarani. Participants include Sahar Bahrawi, Saudi Writer, Sara AlMagrabi a well-known Social Media Influencer engaging actively and positively with the youth and Wid Essa a Nestlé female Employee in Saudi Arabia.

These personal narratives highlighted the importance of community and emotional support in the cancer journey, emphasizing the holistic approach like the “My Cancer, My Nutrition” initiative and website.
