Originally introduced in 2009 in the format of “The World’s 50 Best”, the organization expanded regionally and unveiled their regional list in 2022, this list offers a yearly assessment of the finest restaurants, determined through the collective input of 250 experts in the field hailing from the region. The year theregional list was compiled for the first time Mimi Kakushi was ranked No. 20. This compilation serves as the ultimate regional resource for discovering top-tier restaurants and premier drinking establishments.
Organized by William Reed, known for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, and Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants is compiled from the input of 250 regional restaurant experts. These experts
determine what qualifies as ‘best’, and the list is a simple tally of their votes. While subjective, it offers valuable insights into current culinary preferences across the Middle East and North Africa. To be included on the list, each restaurant must attain a minimum of 7 votes from the restaurant experts, whereby only 5 of them can be located within the same country.
