AlUla : Renowned Arab music icon Majid AlMohandis will take to the stage in breathtaking AlUla on 15 January 2026 to deliver a landmark performance as part of the Maraya Classical Concert Series.
Widely celebrated as “The Engineer of the Arabic Song” and “The Voice of Diamond”, AlMohandis is one of the most influential and beloved figures in contemporary Arabic music. Aknowledged for his velvety vocals, refined compositions, and emotional depth, his artistry has shaped the modern Arabic soundscape for more than two decades.
Born in Baghdad and trained as an engineer, AlMohandis pursued his lifelong passion for music alongside his studies, thus earning the nickname that would later define his career. His journey from self-taught oud player to regional superstar is a testament to his talent, craftsmanship, and artistic integrity. Today, he stands as a cultural figure whose music transcends generations and borders.
The concert, led by Maestro Medhat Khamis, promises a powerful fusion of classical elegance and modern Arabic music, aligned with the spirit of the Maraya Classical Concert Series, which celebrates exceptional voices in an extraordinary setting.
AlMohandis’ performance adds further starpower to a standout lineup of live music in AlUla. The Maraya Classical Concert Series has already featured an unforgettable show from Lebanese superstar Wael Kfoury on 19 December 2025 and Gipsy Kings and Guy Manoukian on 2 January 2026. One week before AlMohandis takes to the stage, Lebanese star Elissa will make a new moment on 9 January when she performs with an all-female orchestra.
Beyond the series, AlUla welcomed Emirati icon Ahlam on 26 December to lead a special concert to honour the Year of the Handicraft, while Assala Nasri and Adam rang in the New Year in ultimate style on 31 December. This unprecedented roster of world-class artists underscores AlUla’s status as a global hub for live entertainment.
The Maraya Classical Concert Series is part of the AlUla Moments 2025/26 calendar – a year-round schedule of events, festivals, and experiences designed to showcase AlUla as a premier destination for culture, heritage, wellness, and sport.
