New Zealand premium food and beverage products will be showcased in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), the government agency charged with helping New Zealand businesses to grow internationally, is bringing Taste New Zealand Week to LuLu Hypermarkets across three cities in Saudi Arabia – Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam – where consumers will have a chance to sample some of the island nation’s top food brands.

Part of the ‘Made with Care’ government campaign, Taste New Zealand Week will run from 26th February – 4th March 2023 and showcase the products of six brands from the dairy, honey,  meat, produce and snacks categories including Egmont Honey, Anchor, Justine’s Cookies, Mānuka Doctor, Rockit™ apple, and Silver Fern Farms. The event aims to highlight the special connection that New Zealand producers have to the land and sea; a relationship founded on care and respect, and an inherent understanding that when nature thrives, we all thrive. Visitors will be able to sample the brands on offer throughout the week-long event.

New Zealand is a world-class leader in the food and beverage industry and is a trusted supplier of quality products and ingredients to more than 140 countries. The country’s nutrient-rich soil, lush pastures, temperate climate and unspoiled coastlines, combined with the care, attention and expertise of its producers delivers delicious food and drink, bursting with incredible flavour.

Commenting on the event, Ahmad Zakkout, New Zealand’s Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and Africa said: “We are delighted to bring Taste New Zealand Week to Saudi Arabia for the very first time to showcase our premium products to local consumers, and to be doing so with the leading Hypermarket LuLu. New Zealand is blessed with abundant natural resources and this natural advantage, combined with our deep care for people and place, results in truly outstanding food and drinks that consumers around the world know they can trust.”

LuLu has been providing a wide range and exclusive selection of products from across the world to consumers in Saudi Arabia since 2009. Commenting on the opportunity to showcase premium New Zealand products to their customers, Shehim Mohamed, Director of Lulu Hypermarkets in Saudi Arabia, said: “We want to offer our customers a variety of products that not only taste great, but most importantly are made of the highest quality ingredients. New Zealand products offer exactly that, and we are proud to have them as part of our offering – we look forward to hearing what our consumers think.”

New Zealand exports more than half the food it produces, delivering safe, tasty, nutritious, ethical and premium-quality food and beverage products to millions of people across the world. Generations of knowledge and experience means that New Zealand producers know how to get the very best from nature.

New Zealand’s highly transparent and rigorous food safety system, overseen by the New Zealand Government, includes clear food safety laws that apply across the food production supply chain. It ensures food is safe to eat, risks are identified and managed, and that New Zealand’s reputation for stringent food safety is upheld.
