Bringing authentic Mexican flavours to the foodies of Dubai, Lila Taqueria is introducing The Classic Mexican Breakfast. The arrival of the breakfast menu is an extension of the restaurant serving ‘authenticity on a plate’ to accompany its range of classic menu items featuring an unmatched flavour profile. Available exclusively over the weekend for dine-in between 10 AM to 1 PM, The Classic Mexican Breakfast from Lila Taqueria is an absolute indulgence for diners wanting a peek into Mexico’s rich culinary heritage.

 

The Classic Mexican Breakfast 

Extending its traditional offerings with an all-new menu, The Classic Mexican Breakfast features the Black Bean Chilaquiles for AED 50, the restaurant’s specialty Breakfast Tacos for AED 55 and the Huevos Rancheros priced at AED 50. Through these classic breakfast staples, Lila Taqueria is giving diners a deep dive into the farms of rural Mexico where simple ingredients are celebrated to derive maximum flavour. For those with a sweet tooth but looking for a healthy option, Lila Taqueria is also offering the Mexican Granola with fresh fruit, yogurt, and honey, all for AED 45. Other options from The Classic Mexican Breakfast menu include the Open-faced Quesadillas, Mexico City Style for AED 55.

 

Coffee Program with RAW Coffee Company

Lila Taqueria features a full-service coffee bar program, in partnership with RAW Coffee Company, to serve single-origin beans and blends sourced from Veracruz, Mexico. With the coffee program complementing Lila Taqueria’s classic breakfast, customers can dine in or grab a coffee to-go, for a fulfilling meal to start the day.

 

Lila Taqueria’s Traditional Culinary Techniques

As the first wood-fired Taqueria in the Middle East to use traditional culinary techniques, Lila Taqueria’s entire menu presents authentic flavours and textures of classic Mexican street food. As part of this crucial differentiator, Lila Taqueria nixtamalize-s and self grinds Heirloom Mexican Corn for its tortillas for the best retention of nutrients. The corn is also imported right from the source for freshly made, hand-pressed tortillas.

 

The Founders Behind the Concept

By using traditional culinary techniques that the region has never seen before, the co-founders are passionate about bringing authentic Mexican cuisine to the forefront of Dubai’s dining scene. Leading this mission from the front is Chef Shaw Lash, an alumnus of the kitchens of Michelin Star Chef Rick Bayless and a protegé of culinary historian Diana Kennedy. Alongside her partner, Tarek Islam, Chef Shaw Lash launched the flagship outlet of Lila Taqueria on Jumeirah Beach Road.

 

The Restaurant  

Since its recent launch on Dubai’s bustling Jumeirah Beach Road, Lila Taqueria has been offering a casual dining experience with its open kitchen, sidewalk terrace, and a walk-up taco window. Extending its promise of authenticity, Lila Taqueria’s interiors feature a hand painted ode to the cooking pots or “ollas” of Mexico and notes of blue wood ash to recreate the glimpse of the wood-fired oak used by the restaurant as part of its traditional Mexican cooking. Together with a cozy atmosphere, Lila Taqueria offers a warm and homely ambience where customers are invited to come in just as they are. Through every offering, elevated with a friendly service, Lila Taqueria is allowing customers to connect with Mexican roots and experience the cuisine in a casual setting.

2 fried eggs, served on top of lightly fried corn tortillas, bathed in a tomato jalapeño Sauce, finished with avocado and crumbled Mexican cheese

 

BLACK BEAN CHILAQUILES (AED 50)

Lightly fried tortilla strips, simmered in a smooth black bean sauce, finished with housemade crema, crumbled Mexican cheese, slivered fresh jalapeño
