A delegation of 7 Korean tourism and hospitality companies meets with over 300 key Saudi travel trade partners to strengthen tourism ties.
The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) successfully held a series of roadshows in Jeddah and Al Khobar as part of its efforts to promote South Korea as a premiere travel destination for Saudi Arabian travellers. The events saw enthusiastic participation from seven leading Korean tourism and hospitality companies, who engaged with more than 300 Saudi travel agents and tour operators.
As tourism from Saudi Arabia continues to rise, with a 16% increase in tourist arrivals until September 2024 compared to the same period last year, these roadshows are a key part of KTO’s ongoing mission to further develop the market. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with Korean industry experts, participate in interactive presentations, and learn more about South Korea’s diverse travel experiences, ranging from its vibrant cities to its cultural and natural attractions.
The delegation from South Korea featured key stakeholders from the tourism industry, including representatives from airlines, hotels, and destination management companies.
To enhance the cultural experience, attendees were treated to a mesmerizing performance by DASRUM, Korea’s renowned traditional music group, whose performance brought a rich and immersive cultural aspect to the events. KTO’s engaging destination presentation highlighted South Korea’s unique blend of modernity and tradition, offering travelers a perfect mix of adventure, history, and leisure.
Mr. Jiman Jung, Regional Director of Korea Tourism Organization, commented:
“We are thrilled with the positive response from the Saudi travel trade community in both Jeddah and Al Khobar. South Korea offers a unique and unforgettable travel experience for Saudi tourists, whether they are seeking adventure, culture, or relaxation. These roadshows have been an important step in strengthening our ties with Saudi Arabia, and we are confident that the interest in Korea will continue to grow. We look forward to welcoming even more Saudi travelers to Korea in the coming months.”
The roadshows also mark the start of several strategic initiatives by KTO to increase awareness of South Korea among Saudi travelers. With its vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and world-class hospitality, South Korea is fast becoming one of the most sought-after destinations for Saudi tourists.
