Exhibition Opening – Picasso. The Figure
Louvre Abu Dhabi presents Picasso. The Figure, a major monographic exhibition of one of the most iconic names in modern art. Tracing the artist’s lifelong preoccupation with the human form, the exhibition features landmark artworks from the Musée National Picasso-Paris, alongside loans from institutions such as the Louvre Museum, Mobilier National, as well as Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and other regional collections, highlighting the artist’s influence on the Arab world.

In 1955, filmmaker Henri-Georges Clouzot and Pablo Picasso collaborated on a groundbreaking art film that captures creativity as it happens. Using an innovative filming technique, the camera follows Picasso’s brushstrokes in real time, transforming the screen into the artist’s canvas. The result is a mesmerizing journey through the making and unmaking of artworks, offering a rare glimpse into the mind of a master.

Visitors can catch the last days of Louvre Abu Dhabi Art Here 2025, presented in collaboration with Richard Mille, featuring six compelling contemporary works by seven artists responding to the theme Shadows, exploring light, absence, memory and identity. It is also the last chance to see Mamluks: Legacy of an Empire, a landmark exhibition showcasing over 270 exceptional objects from 34 international institutions, tracing the rich cultural, artistic and political legacy of the Mamluk Sultanate (1250–1517).
