Riyadh –: A workshop was held on Wednesday, that brought together the Saudi tourism system with partners from the private tourism sector. Under the leadership of His Excellency the Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tourism Authority, Mr. Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib, for the sake of cooperation and integration for the success and excellence of the Saudi Summer Program.
This step comes in the context of making and unifying efforts aimed at making national initiatives a success in general, and it also comes to raise the level of coordination between all concerned parties to maximize the gains and achieve the goals of the Saudi Summer Program, which was recently launched in 7 tourist destinations, and extends until the end of next September, and includes 550 tourist products. And 150 special offers, developed in cooperation between the Saudi tourism system and its partners from the private tourism sector.
On this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Al-Khatib, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tourism Authority, said: “The private tourism sector is an important partner in implementing, highlighting and making tourism initiatives and programs successful, and we are here today in a joint workshop to empower and support the private sector and work together to achieve the sector’s goals.” Tourism is part of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to consolidate Saudi Arabia’s position on the global tourism map, in addition to cooperation and integration with our partners to highlight and make the Saudi Summer Program under the slogan “Taraha” a success, and all tourism initiatives and programs.
Mr. Fahd Hamid Al-Din, CEO and member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tourism Authority also stated: “The Saudi Tourism Authority aims to attract more than 18.8 million tourists for entertainment purposes during the summer months, and the spending target is 40 billion. The Authority also seeks to empower the private sector by providing the necessary resources and launching… Joint promotional campaigns and cooperation to develop distinctive products, attractive offers, packages, and discounts, and to motivate our partners to create, excel, and innovate, the Partners Award for the Saudi Summer Program was launched.”
His Excellency the Minister of Tourism delivered a speech during the workshop; In it, he highlighted the most important achievements and aspirations of the tourism sector at the international level. He also stressed the importance and role of the private sector in maximizing the success of the tourism sector and achieving its goals. He also emphasized the importance of directing the largest part of the activities of travel and tourism companies, hospitality facilities, and airline companies to domestic tourism. By designing tourism packages and programs that attract tourists from inside and outside the Kingdom, with the need to focus on marketing aspects.
