WHERE GLAMOUR MEETS HISTORY: DISCOVER ROME IN STYLE IN AN ELECTRIC, VINTAGE FIAT 500
When it comes to living the Dolce Vita, there’s nowhere quite like Rome. Hotel de la Ville, the Rocco Forte hotel on via Sistina, offers proof of this with an exclusive new itinerary ‘Hurry up, Marcello!’ in honour of beloved Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni, who was born 100 years ago in September 1924. Inspired by the acclaimed 1960s film ‘La Dolce Vita’, in which Marcello was the star actor, the new itinerary will take guests on a journey through time, glamour and cinematic allure.
“Hurry up, Marcello!” allows guests of Hotel de la Ville to live like movie stars, embarking on an unforgettable Roman Escapade in a meticulously restored vintage convertible Fiat 500, complete with a new eco-friendly electric engine and personal driver.
Dedicated to retracing the steps of Federico Fellini’s masterpiece “La Dolce Vita”, ‘Hurry up, Marcello!’ takes guests on a twilight tour of the Eternal City, re-living a time when Via Veneto was the pulsating heart of society and Cinecittà was known as the “Hollywood on the Tiber.”
The experience promises an enchanting night discovering the best of Rome through the locations of “La Dolce Vita” all from the seats of the iconic Italian automobile. From Via Veneto – the haunt of intellectuals and celebrities, where paparazzi flashes lit up the night, to Piazza Barberini – home to Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s breathtaking Triton Fountain; and the Trevi Fountain – the setting of the film’s most iconic scene, where Anita Ekberg famously beckoned “Marcello, come here.
