For almost half a century, Henry Jacques has been crafting rare and precious perfumes from its atelier in the South of France. In 2014, the Haute Parfumerie made the transition from creating bespoke fragrances for those “in the know”, to sharing its creations with the world with the opening of its first ever boutique – located in the most prestigious retail destination in the world: Harrods, London. At the time, Henry Jacques was only one of 10 perfumers to be invited to open in the exquisite Salon de Parfums. Now, 10 years on, the Maison has strengthened its presence in the iconic department store with the re-opening of a vastly extended boutique.
The new boutique opened this month following extensive renovations and has doubled in size to almost 40 square meters. The project was brought to life by Henry Jacques’ Artistic Director (and acclaimed architect) Christophe Tollemer, who in line with the Maison’s international retail identity, has created a warm and inviting home away from home, reminiscent of a classical Parisian apartment. In line with the brand’s philosophy of combining rich heritage with an inspiring contemporary vision, the boutique design merges old with new, and tradition with innovation.
Upon entering the boutique, beautiful craftsmanship is evident throughout. One’s eyes are drawn to a striking Corian perfume organ symbolizing the historic Henry Jacques laboratory in France – a stunning contrast to the solid oak cabinets and flooring. There are exquisitely crafted alcoves elegantly housing the perfumes, and continuing through the space is the entirely new section tucked away behind a grand wooden door, with further displays of the Maison’s signature collections. The extension offers a comfortable lounge area, a private space for consultations where guests can dive into the boundless allurement of great perfumery in a sanctuary of serenity.
Visitors can discover all of Henry Jacques’ creations, from Les Classiques’ traditional Essences and lighter Les Brumes splash & sprays at the heart of the collection, Les Exceptions masterpieces, the new solid perfumes housed in the pioneering, patented Clic-Clac case, and of course, the bespoke or Sur-Mesure service where olfactory dreams are brought to life.
The Harrods Salon de Parfums boutique reopening comes soon after the recent unveiling of Henry Jacques’ stunning Ginza, Tokyo boutique – the Maison’s tenth global retail point. Alongside London and Tokyo, the Haute Parfumerie is also present in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Beverly Hills, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Singapore – and its flagship which opened in 2022 on Avenue Montaigne in Paris.
The Harrods boutique is located on the sixth floor of the illustrious Knightsbridge building, at the heart of the niche perfume section, and is open from 10:00-21:00 hrs each day.
