Jeddah : Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Hajj Conference and Exhibition 1447 AH was officially launched. Organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, this fifth edition is themed “From Mecca to the World” and features the inaugural Hajj and Two Holy Mosques History Forum, hosted by the King Abdulaziz Foundation at the Jeddah Superdome. The event draws attendees from various sectors, including princes, ministers, officials, and representatives from Islamic countries.
The opening ceremony commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech delivered on behalf of King Salman by His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region. In his address, the King highlighted the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to serve the Two Holy Mosques and praised the successful organization of the previous Hajj season (1446 AH), emphasizing the commitment to enhancing services for pilgrims.
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, spoke about the new forum aimed at documenting Hajj’s history from pre-Islamic times to the present, employing scientific methodologies to highlight historical evidence.
Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah, reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to improving Hajj services in line with Vision 2030. He reported that contracts for over 60% of pilgrims have been finalized and preparations for 50% of the holy sites are complete, with the Nusuk app usage exceeding 40 million globally.
The conference, inaugurated by the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, runs from November 9 to 12, 2025, featuring more than 143 sessions and workshops with experts from over 150 countries. A documentary titled “The Human Tide” was previewed, showcasing pilgrims’ experiences.
The event concluded with the signing of several agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation in technology and service quality. The “Committed Award” initiative recognized outstanding airlines from the 1446 AH Hajj season and honored contributors to the development of services for pilgrims.
