In efforts to foster cultural ties between France and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the French Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mr. Ludovic Pouille, and the French Consul General in Jeddah, Mr. Mohammed Nehad, together with their delegation, visited “Balad Al-Fann” event in Jeddah.
The Jeddah Historical District aims to launch the “Balad Al-Fann” initiative to enhance cultural interaction in AlBalad. This initiative seeks to make the area a cultural hub and a major creative center, attracting cultural projects, entrepreneurs, and fostering artistic endeavors. This effort aligns with the Jeddah Historical District contribution to support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The tour began with a visit to several art exhibitions, where guests enjoyed viewing the architectural exhibition “Hot Cities,” which explores how to deal with heat in hot cities.
They then headed to the “Sinbad” exhibition, showcasing visual artworks by artists from around the world. They also visited the “Matters Through Matter” exhibition, featuring works by famous local and international artists.
After exploring the preparations for the musical event “Jazz in Jeddah” at the visitor center, which was organized in collaboration with the French Consulate General in Jeddah, the group embarked on an exploratory trip to Al-Mualleqat Street, Beit Almohandis, and Beit Nassif.
They then visited “Zawiya 97” to explore the flourishing artistic and craft works. The tour concluded at Beit Gouta, which hosts all musical events.
The visit of the French Ambassador and Consul to “Balad Al-Fann” reflects their strong commitment to enhance cultural exchange and providing opportunities for communication between artists and creatives in both countries. The tour also highlighted the importance of “Balad Al-Fann” as a vital center in making Jeddah a distinctive cultural and artistic destination.
