The influx of diners to Dubai’s newest food hall helped Al Ghurair Centre record close to a million more visitors compared to the same period last year

Flayva has newly opened further five new vendors to its roster of homegrown brands, including Hangry Joe’s, Turk Cuisine, Holy Buns by SMK, Fudo Sushi, and Harvest Café and will soon add Brisket

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – -: Al Ghurair Centre, the UAE’s first shopping mall, has revealed its new Flayva food hall recorded more than 1.17 million visitors in the first six months of operations, increasing overall footfall to the mall by close to a million – the equivalent to a 12.9 per cent jump when compared to the same period of 2023.

Flayva, which has established a growing reputation for its diverse homegrown food concepts, revealed that, in the first six weeks alone, total orders reached 70,000, while that number jumped to more than a quarter of a million (258,702) by August. Month by month records show the highest performing months to be April, June, and August, likely as a result of Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha celebrations, as well as public competitions and masterclass activations.

The numbers showcase Flayva’s ever-growing potential to serve the neighbourhood community with diverse dining options along with seasonal fun and engaging activities. From special offers to public competitions, Flayva has run several activations during its first 26 weeks, most notably a public competition to mark International Chicken Wing Day, a spicy seafood eating competition, and performances by local bands ‘About Last Night’ and ‘The Boxtones,’ that drew a huge turnout thereby increasing overall mall footfall.

To ensure a notable diversity in cuisines, Flayva has onboarded a further five new F&B vendors, each with their own unique concept, and is yet to add Brisket to the food hall as well. Hangry Joe’s, Turk Cuisine, Holy Buns by SMK, Fudo Sushi and Harvest Café, each offer something from around the world, be it Turkey, Japan, United States, or elsewhere.

Inspired by authentic Nashville-style hot chicken, Hangry Joe’s menu ranges from chicken sandwiches and waffles to chicken wings and nuggets. Adding a Turkish touch to the roster, Turk Cuisine offers a menu of traditional dishes such as pohaca, a traditional savoury pastry, su boregi, a traditional Turkish water patty, pide flat breads, sweet baklava, and more. Meanwhile Fudo Sushi is influenced by Japanese and Southeast Asian cuisine, offering guests a diverse range of Asian fusion dishes with a focus on sushi and maki creations. Dishes include California rolls, exotic bomb shrimp rolls, and more.

Further, Harvest Café is inspired from the deep-rooted Filipino love for coffee and pastries, promising an authentic Pinoy dining experience. From strong, bold coffees to floral notes of Arabica beans, the Harvest menu includes sansrival, known for its layers of meringue, nuts, and buttercream frosting, and tablea, made from cacao beans roasted, ground, and moulded into small disks. Harvest Café will also be introducing a unique dish called croffles, a croissant-waffle hybrid being served in Dubai for the first time.

Flayva food hall caters to every palate and boasts 23 diverse homegrown concepts. From Lebanese delicacies, Indonesian dishes, flavourful Turkish cuisine or Japanese options, it promises a dynamic and vibrant dining experience. As well as the six new eateries, the line-up of vendors also includes Allo Beirut Restaurant, BaoFriend, Warung Bandung, Vietnamese Snack Food Cafe, Little Oriental Dining, Salvis Cafe, Chibog Restaurant, Bacolod Inasal BBQ, Tako Ichiban House, Siam Restaurant, Spice Grill, Gulou China Grub, Hubboba Tea Café, Kimo, Luckin Spring, and Yue Baby HK Café.
