“The opening of Fairmont Tokyo, and our debut in Japan, is a significant milestone in Fairmont’s global growth and our expansion in Asia. We are not only opening our first property in Tokyo, we are also ushering in a new era of inclusive luxury for Japan. Personalized experiences are the heart and soul of every Fairmont stay, and our properties are set in the social epicenters of the world. With Tokyo’s rich heritage and culture, it’s the perfect home for Fairmont” said Omer Acar, Chief Executive Officer, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

The hotel’s interiors, thoughtfully designed by internationally acclaimed BAR Studio, showcase a refined color palette, rich textures and subtle cues referencing traditional Japanese techniques such as weaving and ‘Kintsugi’ both integrated into the property’s art and textiles. The result beautifully encapsulates the vibrancy of the city, reflecting the serenity of Tokyo Bay, while paying homage to Japan’s rich artisanal heritage.

Leveraging Fairmont’s historic ties to the Canadian Pacific Railway, the interior design echoes Fairmont’s legacy as a place that connects people across time and cultures.  The main lobby located on the 35th floor of Fairmont Tokyo embodies a serene and tranquil space, perfectly blending nature with an abundance of lush greenery, seamlessly leading to beautiful outdoor terraces facing both East and West. The first terrace features a Relaxation Pool and Sundeck where guests can enjoy ultimate relaxation followed by sunset cocktails overlooking the stunning views of Tokyo Tower.  A second Terrace off the Lobby Lounge features an observation deck facing the serene Tokyo Bay, along with a seating area and fireplace.

Upon opening, Fairmont Tokyo will offer 217 rooms ranging from 52 – 278 sq.mt, situated from the 36th – 42nd floors, each with breathtaking, unobstructed views through expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. Elegantly crafted seating areas, inspired by the traditional Japanese ’Engawa’, create a transitory space between the interior and exterior. Warm-hued sen (Japanese Ash) wood, quartzite stone, and refined brass accents foster an ambiance of timeless elegance throughout guest rooms.  Guest bathrooms enhance a calming sense of serenity with the use of natural stone textures alongside Fairmont guest favorite- Le Labo bath products.
