Dubai, United Arab Emirates-: Dubai Food Festival arrives on the shores of Bluewaters with an array of immersive, expert-led masterclasses for discerning diners this May. The destination’s popular restaurants, including SHI, 88Terrace, Frank, and Ikra Caviar, are hosting unique culinary workshops so participants can learn how to perfectly pair different plates with grapes, brew and more. For little ones, Pastamamma is hosting a dedicated masterclass to delve into the art of pizza-making.

Sushi and grapes pairing by SHI

Fruity flavours with spicy rolls or full-bodied reds with wagyu? The talented chefs at SHI and experts from The Tasting Class are hosting a three-course workshop to teach gourmands how to pair popular Asian cuisine with the right grapes. Participants will start by learning how to bring out the subtle flavors of sushi, progress to the savory pleasures of dim sum, and conclude by honing the skill of matching grapes with both savory and sweet umami dishes. This class is perfect for fans of pan-Asian cuisine seeking an elevated way to experience and enjoy signature dishes.

Sink your teeth into a variety of tender cuts paired with the perfect brew at the meat lover’s paradise, Frank, during Dubai Food Festival. Mix your own drinks at 88Terrace  

A contemporary and elegant lounge bar offering some of Bluewaters’ most breathtaking vistas, 88Terrace is opening its doors to aspiring bartenders for one night during Dubai Food Festival. Soak in the sundown scenery as you learn how to blend, shake, stir, and build your favourite drinks under the guidance of an expert mixologist. As students indulge in their creations alongside specially curated canapés, they’ll learn the interesting tales behind the timeless mixed drinks. For those keen to keep the evening alive, 88Terrace’s exciting Salsa Night will follow the class, making it the perfect evening itinerary for couples or friends looking to enjoy Dubai’s culinary scene in a new way. Caviar and grapes pairing at IKRA Caviar

Much like fish and succulent meat cuts, caviar, too, has rules for which grapes complement its rich taste. Among Bluewaters’ newest additions, the cozy Russian restaurant IKRA Caviar is inviting gourmands to learn the intricacies of caviar production and grading while discovering classic and contemporary serving methods. Seasoned sommeliers will then lead a tasting session, teaching participants how to couple sweet and fruity notes with the nuanced and natural flavours of the sea.

Pizza-making for kids at Pastamamma 

Pastamamma’s artisanal pizza and home-style pasta have made it among Dubai’s family-favourite restaurants. The trendy spot along Bluewaters’ bustling avenues is inviting children and parents (or a trusted guardian) for a hands-on workshop to delve into the art of pizza-making and more during Dubai Food Festival. Guided by expert instructors, the edutainment experience will not only teach children the ins and outs of how to transform simple ingredients into delectably fresh dough, tantalising toppings, and tasty tiramisu but also provide fun historical insights into these classic Italian dishes.

Each participating child will receive a goodie bag filled with fresh pasta, sauces, and an apron to encourage them to continue their culinary adventures even after the workshop.
