AlUla : Omar Khairat, one of the Arab world’s most revered composers, is coming to AlUla after being confirmed for the fourth concert of this year’s Maraya Classical Concert Series. A pioneering force in contemporary Arabic music, Khairat will deliver a musical masterpiece at Maraya on 16 January 2026.

The Egyptian legend is widely celebrated for redefining the concert experience across the region through his distinctive fusion of traditional Eastern melodies, classical orchestration, and jazz influences. His compositions have captivated audiences for more than four decades, cementing his status as one of the most respected composers of his era.

Over the course of his illustrious career, Khairat has soundtracked more than 120 of Egypt’s most acclaimed films and television series, in addition to scoring various theatrical productions. Widely credited with introducing generations of audiences to large-scale instrumental performances, he has played a defining role in elevating the artform both locally and internationally.

As well as regularly performing at the Cairo Opera House, Khairat has appeared at some of Egypt’s most prestigious cultural landmarks, including the Pyramids Plateau, Luxor Temple, the Grand Egyptian Museum, and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation. Internationally, he has performed in several countries, such as Italy, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UAE, and UK.

Set within AlUla’s Ashar Valley, Maraya is the world’s largest mirrored building and provides an extraordinary setting for each of the Maraya Classical Concert Series concerts. Perched among AlUla’s dramatic desert landscapes, each performance is an intimate celebration of music and culture, bringing iconic Arab voices and composers to a modern masterpiece of a stage.

The Maraya Classical Concert Series kicked off with renowned Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury on 19 December 2025, before award-winning Gipsy Kings & Lebanese pianist Guy Manoukian on 2nd January, followed by Arab icon Elissa who will perform on 9 January 2026, and Khairat closes the run of concerts a week later.
