DIFC Art Nights will showcase imaginative works from local and international artists along with engaging panels and workshops.
Art experts from Christies, Dubai Culture and Tashkeel to host panel discussions.
Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children will conduct workshops open to all during the event.
Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), a vibrant hub for art and culture in the UAE, has announced the 18th edition of DIFC Art Nights, to be held from 7-15 November 2024 at Gate Village. Conducted in partnership with Christie’s, Dubai Culture, Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children, Tashkeel and Principle Consultants, the latest edition commemorates the 20th anniversary of DIFC, featuring public art displays, exclusive panel talks, art performances, live art installations, family workshops and musical entertainment.
DIFC Art Nights will highlight traditional artistic mediums such as paintings and sculpture, while also exploring design as a form of art, showcasing the creativity and innovation of designers within the artistic community. Along with panel discussions led by art curators and experts, the nine-day event will offer complimentary workshops by Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children at Gate Village from 5-9pm. The workshops will include introductions to pottery on wheel, painting on ceramics, linocut and typography. Additionally, DIFC in collaboration with The Happy Box, will present the “20 Forms of Art” workshops, featuring abstract art, mosaic art, Islamic art, origami, quilling, sculpture and watercolor among others.
A host of panel discussions will be the highlight of the evenings, including the opening evening on 7 November, which will feature renowned figures from the art and investment worlds, including; David Linley – Earl of Snowdon, Christie’s Chairman; Maurice Gravier – Group Chief Investment Officer, ENBD; Anthea Peers – President, Christie’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa ; Meagan Kelly Horsman – Managing Director, Christie’s Middle East; and Sami Hayek – designer and artist.
Set within the vibrant DIFC neighbourhood, with art galleries spread across the venue, DIFC Art Nights reaffirms its role as a cultural hub, attracting creatives from across the region and around the globe. The event supports both local and international artists and provides them with a platform to display their creativity and reach out to a wider UAE art community. The vibrant celebration of art and creativity offers the public an opportunity to immerse themselves in the creative world of art within the eclectic DIFC venue.
