– Al Mehyas earns three awards, including Insurance Personality of the Year

Abu Dhabi, UAE-: The National Health Insurance Company – Daman has won five international awards that emphasise its best practices and exceptional performance across a range of fields, including health insurance, innovation, and social responsibility. Hamad Abdullah Al Mehyas, CEO of the National Health Insurance Company – Daman, won three awards in recognition of his leading role and contributions to the global insurance sector.
Daman earned two awards from Global Brands Magazine’s Global Brands Awards for 2022: the ‘Digital Insurance Innovation of the Year’ award, and the ‘Best Insurer for CSR Initiative’ award. The awards reflect the company’s continuous focus on the highest standards of excellence, and deployment of the best technological solutions to serve its clients, in addition to its pivotal role in supporting UAE society through a variety of social initiatives that make it a role model in the field of social responsibility.
For his part, Hamad Abdullah Al Mehyas, CEO of the National Health Insurance Company – Daman, won three awards, including ‘Best Emerging Insurance CEO of 2022’, part of the esteemed Global Business Outlook awards, in recognition of his exceptional efforts in leading the insurance sector in the UAE and across the region. Al Mehyas was also awarded the ‘Best Emerging CEO in Health Insurance for 2022’ award by the Global Economics Leadership Awards, which focus on the top global influencers in business and enterprise. These awards came in conjunction with him being named ‘Insurance Personality of the Year for 2022’ at the Global Brands Awards.
The award wins confirm Al Mehyas’ position as one of the most prominent and influential leaders in the region’s insurance sector. He plays a pivotal role in the development and progress of the sector through his position at Daman and through an array of other leadership positions which he holds in the Abu Dhabi and UAE healthcare and insurance sectors. These positions have enabled him to contribute to supporting government agencies and regulatory bodies, as did his leadership of a number of strategic initiatives under the umbrella of the Emirates Insurance Association, where he holds the positions of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Higher Technical Committee, Chairman of the Insurance Technical Subcommittee on Life and Health Insurance, and Chairman of the Emiratisation Committee.
Al Mehyas has overseen the launch of several pioneering initiatives, in addition to supervising Daman’s proactive and effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also been instrumental in working to enhance Daman’s efforts in providing digital services to all its clients.

The various awards are bestowed by prestigious international magazines and organisations specialised in the business sector, which focus on banking, insurance, brokerage, finance, investment, hedge portfolios, brands, energy, hospitality, real estate, advanced technologies and corporate social responsibility.
